Just let it go!

The Pony Express realy does exist and it works!  Shelley will be bringing me my purple magazine holder today or the next time I see her, but alas, there is NO book in the holder.  I've no idea where I could've put that darn book, although I did wake up several times last night with several places it could be. I must remember to check under the seats of my car. I have found a few things there from time to time including the missing mail box key!

I've come to the realisation that it is time to let that book go.  I need the book and so I must move on. I dug out a new notebook this morning and it's Saturday so later today, I'll start repopulating the book with my lists. I know, the old one will likely be sitting on my cutting mat tomorrow morning!  No worries - it's time to get smarter with what went in the book and there is certainly less in this book than in the old one.  That's OK - it means stuff got done!  And in future?  That book NEVER leaves the house!

I'll be sharing the book and how I'm going to use it to help me accomplish my tasks for 2017. When I was selecting the projects that I want to accomplish in 2017, it was obscene to see how many UFOs there were.  If I never started a new project and finished 12 in a year, I might live long enough to finish them all. Time to PRIORITZE FOCUS WIN!!!!   And as I was sitting at my desk yesterday, I had a super great idea for a couple of new projects. STOP!

It's funny how I've searched and searched for that darn book, gave a lot of thought to the missing book, and then this morning, I found something that I didn't even know was missing.
Do you see what I see??
This morning, I did something that I haven't done in a long time. I woke up, looked at the clock and thought "I don't really need to get out of bed right now". So I snuggled under the covers and thought about a lot of stuff like where is the darn missing book and what projects to work on!  I finally got up and took Miss Lexi to the dog park.

She has a favourite side to the park and we took a walk there. No one else had arrived yet. We were enjoying the beautiful morning. I happened to glance down and WHOA!  There's my FITBIT on the ground.  Did I just lose it?  How did that happen?  When I picked it up, it was cold meaning it had been there overnight and there were ZERO steps registered.  It was where we were standing last night chatting while the dogs played. It must have caught on my pocket when I put my hands in my pocket and come off.  I didn't need to look at it this morning because I hadn't gotten out of bed!!!   Very weird - first time that has happened and thankfully I found it before I knew it was lost or I may have never found it.

On the same vein of letting things go, I decided it's time to get rid of a couple of magazines.  I know - if only there were a couple!  I will admit that I read magazines at work and as a result, I don't buy nearly as many as I used to.  Hey - I read those magazines for my job!  I'm not slacking off. Granted, I probably spend a bit more time than everyone else when I read them, but that's OK. So less coming in, but there are stacks and stacks of magazines in the studio that need to be addressed.

I went through TWO last night. Hey - it's a start and maybe that becomes one of my priority items for 2017.  Keep track of how many magazines get thrown out. That would be fun!  And I've learned to be quick about reading the magazines because of reading them at work.  I still go through them cover to cover, but I finish it at one sitting - I don't have time to keep going back and they need to be moved on to the next person.

This is one from last night - from 2005!!!!   I know - it's sad.  But wait - there are much older ones than that!

Magazine - now history!
I had to laugh when I looked at some of the projects.  Very simple - it wasn't so much that the quilt designs were simple, but the fabrics were much more muted!  Or perhaps that was the ink in the magazine that had faded???

Muted fabrics

I shall endeavour to dig out those that I know I can whip through quickly. Aim for two a day and that will give me practice to plow through the other more in-depth magazines. And how many times have I said this???  Too many, but seriously - if we ever had to move, I've no idea how to deal with the basement. I must get it under control.  I would have zero problem getting rid of anything else in my house, but the basement - well that's a different story.

And I have to say that I do have the best friends in the world.  Look what Shirley found for me.

Collapsible laundry basket
Now isn't that just the best?  I sure hope that when fully opened that it's bigger than a regular laundry basket because that is what I'm going to take to the retreat!   I know - let that go too!!!  Everything in life doesn't have to be a contest or a challenge, but it sure makes things interesting!

On that note, I'm off to teach a couple of classes this morning and then back to the long arm this afternoon. And I had better dig out those two magazines for today as otherwise I'll forget by the end of the day!!!

Have a super day!!!

Ciao!
