I just think the more time we have to use our stuff instead of managing our stuff, we're all going to be much happier. Good luck with your goal. I wish I could say the same and I might even get that accomplished as well. I look around at my 'stuff' and start to feel overwhelmed but then I realize that I am quite organized and most things are labeled. However, there is just so darn much. So, one area at a time. At the moment, I am pulling out everything to do with postcard making. Over ten years ago, I belonged to a few online groups and we did postcard swaps. So many beautiful postcards but also, so many supplies. I am not sure I will ever make postcards again, so, pulling all the supplies out from drawers and containers and will figure out how to move it onto another home. I have had success with taking items to our 'give and take' table at my traditional quilting guild - they are like vultures when I walk in with free quilting supplies. I think with my postcard supplies, I will take the time to fill some zip locks with supplies and that way, things won't get picked over. Take or leave the bag? And will be easy to donate if supplies are bagged. Keep motivating me. My goal is that by the end of the summer, everything will be organized and labeled with no containers of 'stuff' waiting to be sorted or on hand, "just in case" I need it. I'm not teaching quite as much or trying to teach techniques which don't really require samples (an entire quilt) made. And I'm pulling out UFOs to do my blog posts for QUILTsocial. I guess the big problem is the sheer volume of stuff there is to deal with!!! I'm getting there. I was thinking of you and your sewing machine yesterday and wondering if you had a chance to sew anything. Happy travels!!!
Elainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09654762599199404214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5028034539470622344.post-18765114771886228252019-05-23T06:31:19.714-04:002019-05-23T06:31:19.714-04:00Thanks - the bubbles are so cool!!! But I've made huge inroads - I now schedule mornings for paperwork. That's for work paperwork. It works out much better. But yes - it's a job and I"m trying to treat is as such. Thanks for your insightful comment!!!Elainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09654762599199404214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5028034539470622344.post-64722308896294273742019-05-22T11:26:45.424-04:002019-05-22T11:26:45.424-04:00Hi Elaine, I know you teach a LOT of classes and i...Hi Elaine, I know you teach a LOT of classes and it seems like you have to make a new quilt for each class and then maybe it doesn't get finished or what do you do with it when you do finish it. A couple of ideas. You have been teaching for a long time so what if you pull out a UFO and teach it as a class. Win/win, you finish a UFO and teach a class without creating another quilt. Another idea, what if, when you are going through your UFOs, you also decide what you want to do/who you want to give it to. Write it down on a piece of paper and pin it to the UFO. Then when you get back to it, there are no decisions to make. Just finish it and pass it on. Just my 2 cents worth :) Still haven't had any time to pull out my machine yet, but next week we are in one spot for 5 days so then I'll have time.
Judihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07422146200688660099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5028034539470622344.post-19830753820423084372019-05-22T11:24:43.559-04:002019-05-22T11:24:43.559-04:00ooh I luv that bubble pattern!

This is what you get paid for. So maybe you have to switch your mind around first and treat it like a job. Just a thought from my end after reading all your blogs, which I thoroughly enjoy.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00222402132238006155noreply@blogger.com
