Out with the old and in with the new (electrical) Part Two

Every day is a new day! I think that was what Alex and Ricky say at the end of every episode of The Quilt Show, and it's true! So much is happening, and some days I don't even know where to start.

I walked to the grocery store and on my way back, my phone started pinging in my pocket. PING PING PING PING. There were so many pings I decided I needed to stop to see what the heck was going on. It was M, alerting me to something extremely creepy, yet extremely hilarious.

I had set my bags on the sidewalk and was there for at least one minute. A woman and a man walked by and asked if I was OK. Isn't that amazing? I think we need to do more of that - communicate with everyone. Ask how they are, or ask if they need help. Or simply to wave!

Case in point, a gentleman that I see from time to time was walking towards me, but he hadn't crossed the street yet. I was going to turn the corner on my morning walk with Murphy, so our paths wouldn't directly cross. However, I waved at him across the street, and he waved back! That brought a smile to my face, and I'm sure it brought one to his!

OK -- so now back to the pinging and what that was all about. It seems that AI has taken over my life without me knowing a darn thing about it. I think this only works on your Android phone, as I couldn't find it on my computer. It is generated by Google Chrome.

So go to my blog on your phone. Then, in the top-right corner, select the THREE DOT drop-down menu. Scroll down until you find "Listen to this page." OMG --- AI turned my blog into a podcast!!!! I am not kidding. And they were pretty thorough, covering all the topics in a conversational style. It's hilarious, but it's creepy at the same time.

While we have the THREE DOT menu on the computer, I could not find the "listen to the page" option. I think this is something brand new. Anyone heard of this before? Should we be alarmed? Darn right!!! Can I stop them using the content that way? I don't know, but at least it's linked to my page.

Besides that excitement, a lot happened in the house. I have made and received so many phone calls over the last week; it's insane. I have tried all week to contact the vet to make an appointment for Lexi, but each time I called, another call came through, and I had to close the vet call. They have a long message when you call them.

However, the good news is that my phone (knock on wood) seems to be back to normal. I can make and receive calls without my voice dropping. I have changed NOTHING!!! It just happened. Can you tell me why that is? My only guess is that what they told me about a misconnection between my phone and the local tower is true, but doesn't that seem far-fetched to you?

I have no idea, but I'm still tentative about making and taking calls. But now that it seems to be working, the floodgates and phone calls are pouring in!

I'm in the process of making travel plans—yep—so much for it being a quiet August. I will be presenting the NEW PFAFF creative icon 3 at the following stores. If you want to get in on the action, be sure to call the store and get on the list. BTW - the AI didn't know how to pronounce PFAFF, so they just said P F A F F.

August 19 (Wednesday) - Castle's Sewing Center - Langley, BC

August 22 (Saturday) - Northgate Sewing Center - Regina, Saskatchewan

August 24 (Monday) Heather Bell's Sewing Studio - West Lorne, Ontario

I will also be doing an event at Northgate Sewing Center on August 21 (Friday) on Creativate (embroidery software, quilting and crafting software, and the technology that ties it all together) and the Momento (24" digital cutter).

So if anyone is in those areas and wants to attend, please call those stores. I have flights booked, but need hotels and cars. It's a crazy trip, but I'll make it happen.

We had two electricians in the house for a good part of the day. I'm happy to report they have finished inside the house and will be back next week to deal with the backyard.

This is one of the two old sconces in the living room. They were original to the house, and while they were decent lights, they didn't do much for me.

The old sconce in the living room

These are the new lights. I LOVE them.

The new sconces

And they seem to set off that window/space a lot nicer than the old ones.

I LOVE the look!!!!

I will say that for shopping from what they had in stock, I did a darn good job and I'm happy! No need to dither about making choices!

And now let's see what happened in the basement. There were nine fluorescent ballasts in the basement. The middle three have been dead for several years. Don't yell at me!!

The dead fluorescent ballasts

And of the remaining six, I bet there was only one fixture that still had two working bulbs in it. It was time to do something.

Some of the bulbs in the working ballasts were toast.

They replaced a total of eleven lights; there are two over the long arm. When I walked downstairs, I was blinded!!! It's like night and day. OH MY --- there really is a lot of stuff in that basement.

The new lights are blinding!!

But here's the thing about the lights. We had a discussion about the lighting. This is the THIRD lighting setup for that space. I started off with pot lights, but didn't like them as they created many shadows; those were installed in 2004. They were replaced by the fluorescent light fixture) and I'm not sure when that was), and as the bulbs burned, I've been replacing them with LED tubes. So it was decent light.

These new ones are LED closed light fixtures. No maintenance required. Here's the very sad part: when a light goes out, the entire fixture needs to be replaced. They are supposed to last for 78,000 hours. That is the equivalent of leaving the lights on 24/7 for almost 9 years. Hmmmm --- do I believe that?

Anyway, the reason for moving to these kinds of lights is maintenance. The lights are used in buildings, homes, etc., and to cut down on the maintenance of buying and replacing bulbs, these fixtures are used. Great for maintenance, not so great for the environment. We have become a throwaway society. No one wants to fix or maintain - just buy new.

I didn't really have much of a choice - three of those units needed to be replaced, so I replaced them all. But working in that space? WOW!!!!!

Then it was time to move outside, and the two electricians got lucky that it had rained a wee bit, but they were able to work.

So the lights outside our house are also original to the house, which is 30 years old. They are dated, dirty, and don't work.

We have one at the front door, two on the garage, one on the side, and one at the back.

The light by the front door
The light on the garage

And this is what I replaced them with.

The light by the front door

At first I wanted something a bit less angular (i.e. modern), but seriously? I love them. And I realized that the little path lights in the front are very angular, so these fit right in! I don't know if you can see in the photo above (two photos up), but the massive amount of unsightly caulking they used is very different from the thin bead on the new lights.

New light on the garage

The only thing missing from the front is a new LIGHTED house number, and we should be good to go. That will take some time to order, so it won't happen this time. I have one other (possibly two) things for them to do in Studio U, so those will happen later.

I dare not think of the bill I will get when this is all done. Even replacing all those switches and outlets will be costly. But I had a budget, and we are well within it, and one must maintain the house! They found multiple broken and cracked light switches, so it was definitely time to replace them.

As they were moving their tools out of the house, they left the door open. Look at that, Lexi. She warily eyed the front door, but didn't move towards it. When she was younger, she would have been out the door without hesitation.

MOM - the door is open - that's not right!

The same goes for walking on the leash. If I had dropped the leash years ago, she would take off. Now, she just stops - MOM - something isn't right!

And look at that Murphy! It's been a long time since she ripped a toy to shreds.

MOM - I'm feeling pretty good!

However, she started barking shortly after midnight, so I ran outside to get her. She was groggy as all get out, but staring at the forest and barking. She came in and settled down right away (thank goodness), and I found her this morning sleeping in the family room where the plug-in pheromone dispenser is located. So I think it's time to start bringing her in at night. I can't have the neighbors calling and complaining about her.

In all the chaos, I managed to get the rooster block complete for the Down on the Farm quilt.

The rooster block

It never ceases to amaze me how a few diagonal seams using squares and rectangles can lead to something like this!

But I still have many pieces left for the second block.

The bits for block ten

Then I was onto the next block. Oh boy—that is going to take some time to complete, but the worst is over. There is a little mouse in the block, and he was very time-consuming. BUT OMG --- he is adorable!!!!

Squeak squeak!

There are still a LOT of pieces remaining for the remainder of this block.

Still loads of pieces

Now it would not take you as long to sew the block together as it is taking me. I am pattern testing it, and I am a dog with a bone. As I complete a section, I send an email with any changes I feel might need to be made. I would likely skim the writing and only look at the pictures, but I am doing both. Checking the writing is hard for me, but I'm doing what I said I would.

I am NOT changing the style in which the pattern is written. I'm just looking for labeling issues, missing instructions, or whatever. That is a very time-consuming job, and at the end of each block, I count the pieces in each block and compare them to the cutting instructions. I'm trying to be diligent and check off each piece as I sew it, but sometimes I forget. That's why I do the double-check at the end.

I love this quilt, and I think it would make an excellent teaching quilt. But I will say that if you decide to tackle this quilt on your own—I do NOT recommend it for a beginner. Maybe an experienced beginner, but I would say it's more an intermediate pattern. Why? Some of the pieces are tiny - the smallest I've worked with are 3/4", which is small when you consider you are using ¼" seams. There are many pieces, and the instructions are clear, but you have to think as you work through them.

When I am sewing, I can listen to an audiobook, but when I need to select pieces and read the instructions, I turn the book off. And I've had to rip because I grabbed the wrong pieces!

I highly recommend the pattern, but be prepared for a challenge. The rest of this block should be fairly easy - I think I am done with the tiny pieces. WAIT -- I am not, as some flowers are coming up and the centers are 3/4" pieces.

The house is still filled with boxes - I need to break them down and put them in the recycling. I got about half of that done yesterday. And the floor needs a good vacuum and wash. I'll vacuum today, but the cleaning people can do the washing on Tuesday.

So much more is going on, but that is it for today. BTW -- the scrap class is FULL. I'll work on a distribution list and then send out some information, but since the first class isn't until September 19, we still have loads of time. And there really isn't any homework or things you need - you just show up on September 19. But I do have one small assignment to hand out before the class starts. Don't panic—it's not mandatory, and it won't take much time.

And on that note, I'm out of here!!

Have a super day!!

Ciao!!!

Alexa saves the day!!!!

So I was buzzing around the house trying to finish off the laundry, including making the guest bed, putting clothes away, and folding towels. Mission accomplished. I managed to get the filter and pump cleaned in the pond, and decided that the water level was a bit low, so I grabbed the hose and let the water run. I set a 30-minute timer (Alexa - the only thing we use it for in our house). Murphy had already been walked, but Lexi needed a walk, so after the cleaning crew arrived, I took her out for a thirty-minute walk.

When I arrived at the house, I could hear Alexa beeping in the kitchen. OH MY GOD!!! I totally forgot I left the water running. Can you imagine if I had left the house for the airport with the water running? And who would have known it was running? It would have been a costly and messy mistake. Thank goodness for Alexa!!!! I ALWAYS set that timer when I'm filling the pond!

At the last minute, I decided there was one more quilt I wanted to take with me, and I had to cram it into a suitcase, and then it was time to go. The girls got a cookie and were unhappy that they couldn't take it to the backyard to eat it. But I had to leave. I had three suitcases and my backpack. When you choose Uber, you get to choose a regular-sized car or an XL, which is larger, like an SUV or van. I didn't need that, but I also didn't need a Prius coming to pick me up.

Thankfully, the guy had enough room in the car for the suitcases and even helped to get them in and out. Oops - I must remember to tip him. I haven't done that yet on the app. Yep -- there's an app for that! There's a flipping app for everything these days.

One little SNAFU with the luggage drop-off at the airport. I'm not sure what was happening, as one bag didn't like being scanned, but a ticket agent soon took care of it, and then I was through security, and all was good. I had plenty of time to spare. Look at me --- PLENTY of time.

I learned something new at the airport. I typically stop at this one store and pick up a sandwich and a bottle of water. It can cost over $20 for those two items. This time, I decided to go only to Tim's and get everything there, which I remember was equally expensive. I bought a medium tea, a cookie, a bottle of water, and a breakfast sandwich for $15. I guess I won't be buying my water or sandwich from that other place any longer!!!

Then I actually got to sit in the boarding area and enjoy my tea. I met up with my colleague, and my boss eventually showed up as we were boarding.

The flight was pretty uneventful, which is always a great thing.

WAIT -- I had a few minutes before I left and I did this. Of course I did!!!! I grabbed all the lighter purple pieces and laid them on the table. Only one color left after this round!!! I even managed to get a few pieces of the puzzle in place, and you can see the work along the table's bottom edge. OK -- I confess - obsessed!!!!

Almost done with the gradient color jigsaw puzzle.

In the Facebook group, there's a participation event where a puzzle style is selected each month, and you can post what you have done. This month was rainbows, gradients, and color. It's just a way to keep everyone engaged, and I think it's great. Not everyone strictly adheres to the theme, but I guess they do what they can with what they have. So far this month, there are 450 posts of their puzzles. Last month, it was close to 1,000. I am going to make two posts, as I have another puzzle that I want to get done this month as well, as it fits within the theme. Wait until you see that one!

The three of us took a cab together to the hotel. We needed a van, as between the three of us, we had nine suitcases!!! I know -- it's crazy, but that's what happens when you travel to a quilt show, and you need quilts for display purposes. And samples for my presentations next week.

There was only one cart at the hotel, so I bundled my three suitcases like this and got them to the room in short order. It works like a charm.

How to move three suitcases at the same time

Of course, I was at the complete opposite end of the hall from the elevator!!!

A long walk down the hallway

That would be my room -- 725 in the far corner. Look at the size of 724. Hmmm -- must be a suite, but this room is plenty big enough for me.

As far from the elevator as you can get!

And look --- my name on the screen when I walked in the room. They must do that remotely. It didn't stay on very long. I don't think I have ever turned on the TV in a hotel room.

My name in lights

I had one largish quilt at the top of each of the two big suitcases, and the first thing I did in the room was get them out. I didn't want them squished for the show. This is one, and well, you can't see the other, but it sure cheered up the room a thousand percent. I even remade the bed this morning, which I rarely do in the hotel. I never have my room made up either. I don't have that service at home; it seems silly to insist someone make my bed for me while I am away.

My bed in the hotel

I love this quilt above. It's one I taught online a couple of years ago—sorry, can't run downstairs to check my poster for the year. The designer had a single word on each side of the square quilt. I loved the idea of words, but I wanted something more. Something that spoke to me, so I found a great quote. By the way, I just checked the blog, and it was 2023.

Check out the quote - I found one that split nicely into four sections, and one section is appliqued onto each side of the quilt.

Part one of the quote

Part Two

Part Three

Part Four

Isn't that just the perfect quote for me? There are so many good quotes, and we need to keep them close to us as reminders of what we want to accomplish, who we are, and how we feel. Anyway, I'm glad I remembered that quilt at the last minute and that it's on my bed. While others are comfortable staying on a steady course, I would be bored to death. So in everything I do, I try to find something new outside my comfort zone!

The first order of business after checking in was to find some food. My breakfast sandwich didn't go far. There is a restaurant on the main floor, so we grabbed something light, with the intention of going down later to eat. Well, later never came as I wasn't hungry - I had brought the leftovers of our nachos to the room, and I finished that off. And that's OK. My eating has been so erratic over the last week; it's good to try to settle things down. Sadly, there won't be any big donuts on this trip!

But I had a huge laugh when I saw this on the menu. I took a picture and sent it to KU. No deep frying for this restaurant!! I don't know why, but the smell of air frying makes me ill. OK -- so I'm exaggerating - I don't get sick, but I find the smell obnoxious. And I know -- it's probably all in my head!!!

Air frying in the hotel kitchen

WAIT --- when will chain restaurants follow suit? Instead of hot, greasy fries, we're going to get air fries?

Then Margaret had to go to the drug store, so I tagged along to get some steps in. I spotted this in the magazine rack and bought it. I know!!!! I got sucked in, but the cover promises so much. I want to see what all the hype is about. What I'm afraid of is that I'm going to see apps or commands that will suck the fun out of my day. Planning, scheduling, and a whole lot more. It's basically saying that if I let AI do stuff for me, I'll lose weight, have well-panned meals, a completely decluttered house, and save time. But where the heck is the fun in that?

And I'm saving time so I can do what? In my case, that is working on a puzzle or sewing, but for others, it means spending more time on their phones. With all the AI, we will be married to our phones and have ZERO skills in our brains. I know people argue that they have to give AI the commands so they are still in control. WAIT—before any of us judge, let me read it.

I'll be reading it with a very open mind (OK -- I'm going to try to maintain an open mind), but I suspect most of it will never happen in my life and is for people who—well, not for me!

I'm going to call that research reading!! I want to know why I should or shouldn't be using this technology. Notice how it says, I can streamline my schedule? Could it really do that? I doubt it! Be open!!!!

OK -- here's a tricky question for you. I am sure that every one of you has a shower in your house. What's the one thing about a shower that annoys the heck out of you? It doesn't matter if the shower is in the tub or standalone - the same silly setup exists.

What is that one thing that every one of us hates!!!

Well, have a look at the shower in my room. Here is the right side.

The right side of the shower

And here is the other side. There is a solid glass wall on the right, and it's open on the other side. Although I originally thought water would splash everywhere, I really like this style. There is less glass to keep clean!

The left side of the shower

Did you notice anything unusual? Look again. What's ONLY on the right, and what's ONLY on the left?

Yep—the showerhead is on the right, and the controls are on the left. Now - doesn't that make super logical sense? How many times have you popped in the shower and either scaled or frozen to death as you tried to adjust the water temperature? This is brilliant. I want a new shower at home, and I want this in it!!!

It's something so simple, so why haven't I seen it before?

But here's a new puzzle to contemplate in the shower. Can you tell me what this bar is for?

A mystery bar in the shower

It's on the left side of the shower, near the floor. I have two theories. Of course I do. Can you guess what they are?

The position of the bar

Theory number one -- you put your foot on there to brace yourself as you get shampoo and soap from the dispensers. Those dispensers, by the way, are brilliant. They have been in hotel rooms for many years, and there is no bar of soap to slip on, no waste, no plastic bottles. Just brilliant!!!!! By the way, it's easy to get the shampoo out of the dispenser, so I doubt that's the reason the bar is there.

Theory number two - should you slip on the floor and can't get up, is that bar there to drag yourself away from the water jet and try to grab the other grab bar? LOL!!!!

I have no idea what that bar is for. So now I have a new mystery to solve.

OK -- so I Googled it! It's to put your foot on while you shave your legs (seriously?), or you exfoliate your legs/feet. Good lord—I would have thought of that—I really would have!!! By the way, that was Google's AI that told me that.

But here's the thing - I am confused by AI and Google. I know that Google has AI, but it also had an amazing search engine once upon a time. That seems to be replaced by their version of AI. To me, Google's AI is just a search engine on steroids. It's all very confusing!

It doesn't matter -- we now know why that bar is there. Personally, I preferred my theories. They are more fun!

Well, it's setup day at Quilt Canada - my favorite day of any quilt show, and I can hardly wait to get started!!!! NOT!!!!! But it's fun to chat with others. OH -- as I entered the line at Tim's in the airport, the person in front of me said hello! One of my students from an online class!!! It's so hard to recognize people in person when you used to seeing only their face. I'm not good at facial recognition. I'm sure that's the first of many encounters!!!

All kidding aside, I am not fond of setup day, but the hard work pays off when you see the booth set up and all the quilts and other projects on display. So much eye candy, and it's going to be a great show! I also have TWO things I want to check out while I'm here. I am remembering that I don't have a ton of room in my suitcases!!! But I could always wear several layers of clothes home, or I could pack a bit tighter, and I'll have room for the two things that I hope to buy here.

Have a super day!!!

Ciao!!!

PS-- I know you are anxiously waiting for me to post the list of classes. I still need to put the dates in my calendar! I know—perhaps I should ask AI to do that for me. But seriously --- I will try to post at least the projects I have chosen, so you will be aware of what I will be teaching.

I will get the dates, costs, and more links up, probably next week, but in the meantime, this gives you an idea of what is happening. I think this was all I decided on based on the feedback I got from you!

There is nothing to do at this point in time. I am not taking signups; I don't have dates yet, but I will get the information to you ASAP. All classes are on ZOOM - once a month, lasting for one hour. My rates are ridiculously cheap. And be sure to pass this information along to anyone who wants to know. I will be sending out emails and posting online as soon as I get a chance to put those dates in the calendar.

Here are the classes:

  • One class is My Kinda Town - paper pieced. While I have chosen a specific pattern, I suppose you could pick any paper-pieced pattern if people absolutely wish. Will be several classes - not determined yet.
  • One class will be on scraps—9 or 10 sessions.
  • One class will be an ongoing quilt with crazy blocks to work on (9 or 10 sessions) - 40 shades of grey.
  • One class will be handwork - wool applique - I have a specific project in mind, but anything goes. Here is a link to the kit I highly recommend. Keep in mind that there are six kit styles, and within each kit, there are four colorways. See the picture below. If you are at Quilt Canada, I think Wonderfil will have those kits, so you may want to get one. Otherwise, I'll give you local resources to buy.

Finding lost things!

Your comments make me chuckle. I'm not the only one who wakes up angry from a dream! Although lately, no dreams. I'm not sure what those couple of nights were all about!

And YES -- I'm up for that hike! I'll get in touch! WOW --- just looked it up - sounds like a load of fun!

And I need to get back to responding individually to the comments!

The writing is done. OK - that's a lie. I'm in the process of sending the last set of videos, and then I have one small document to write this morning. I love writing, but sometimes, it just bogs me down. This was one of those times. I'm not sure why! Probably there was so much going on (previously) and such a big mess downstairs that I just wanted to dive in and clean it up!

I caved - no, I didn't subscribe to ChatGPT, but you can create a few pictures each day for free, and since I'm no artist, I figured, what the heck, let's have fun with it. Here are our dogs cheering on the Blue Jays, who had a wee hiccup last night. No worries.

The Monday Sewing dogs are cheering on the Blue Jays

This time, they are smiling - I had to request that, and the chocolate lab in the front middle is much lighter than it was the other day! We have a wee issue with two paws on the left, but what a hoot!

You remember my orange cake from the other day.

My original cake

This time I asked for an elegant cake in orange. I suppose CHATGPT knows I'm not the kind of person who likes frills, so this is what I got! I think it's hilarious!!!!

My elegant cake

Then I've always had visions of taking some quilts into the forest and getting a picture of myself riding my bike. After how many years, and that has never happened? So I asked ChatGPT to create something for me.

A crazy quilter on a bike with her trusty companions

What do you think? Pretty neat, and look at that orange hairband, which I did NOT request. Is it starting to know me? I'm not sure why it defaulted to the cartoon version, but I decided to ask it for a realistic picture, and this is what I got! Look at those happy girls running beside me.

A realistic version of the same photo

As M says, it's kind of creepy, but then she's the one who generated a picture of her current self hugging a much younger version of herself. Now that's creepy!!

However, it's a fun tool to experiment with. Will I do anything with the pictures? Likely not.

WAIT -- Did you notice the quilted jacket? For those in the Jacket Class (Zoom) that starts this month, hosted by Thimbles and Things, I have downloaded the list of participants and will be assembling the distribution list later today. There is no prep for the first class, so no need to panic!

On Monday, we discussed the sidewalks and how some of the slabs have settled, and several of us had noticed the marks on them where they needed repair.

This is how some of them had been repaired in the past - they would lay a bunch of asphalt next to the uneven slabs and hope for the best.

Old repair

I had remarked on Monday that while the first set of marks (yellow) had been completed quite a while ago, and a second set of marks (white) had been completed this past summer, nothing had been done since then.

Imagine my surprise that afternoon when I went for my walk and the sidewalk on my street had been done, but nothing else in the neighborhood had. OK - now that is very freaky! Perhaps the city was listening and decided to make a fool of me! That was very bizarre!

The new repairs

And this root - well, I'm not sure what they are going to do with the root. And a few other streets may have been done that same day, but I haven't noticed any. I'm sure they didn't do this just for me, although I've never had an issue with tripping on the sidewalk.

A root under the slab

I swear, when people see me walking, they must think I work for the city because who else takes pictures of the sidewalks or other oddities of the city?

The nice thing about tidying up is that I'm actually finding things that I needed to find. A friend of mine and I were working on a machine embroidery house for Halloween. That was in March of 2024. We did an experiment and never went past that. Well, it's time to get cracking as Halloween is coming. I couldn't find what we had worked on, and I had no idea when or what I had done. So, back to the blog, where I was able to find the post. I LOVE going back to read the older blog posts!

It appears that I only cut one piece of foam for her, and she did one stitch out, which you can see in the blog. I found my papers, but what did we learn from that experiment? I'm waiting for her to find the piece so we can reevaluate the situation and move forward.

The lost pattern pieces for the Halloween house

I also found the base for my mini iron. It had gone missing for several months, and no clue. I found it when I put the tubs of stabilizers away! Good grief!

The base for my mini iron is now found!

I also found a binding for a quilt. What's hilarious is that it's the quilt I mentioned at the beginning of that blog post about the Halloween house! Not a big deal, except that the quilt is now bound! It was one of the ones I quilted in July, and I didn't remember that I had made the binding - it got separated from the quilt. So I made a new one. Now I have a brown binding, but I have nothing to put it on! I'm sure I'll find something where it can be used. WAIT --- I know just the quilt - it's a new one I have to make, and this will be perfect for it!

An extra binding

As usual, I found more tools - another seam ripper. How many more will I find? I also found a couple of hairbands, which I had intended to embellish, and my bracelet.

Lost things that are now found!

This isn't just any bracelet; this is my bracelet from the Camino! Oh my goodness—the fastener came undone, and I need to figure out how to reassemble it. It was then put into a tub, and now I need to Google how to fix it! If only I would fix or do all these things when the moment arises. Sigh........

My long-lost Camino bracelet!

As I was tidying and sorting in the middle of the night, I pulled out items for the upcoming jacket class. I have this massive pile to go through to take photos and find interesting things to discuss. I have no want for reference material!

Jacket class research materials!

Only the far set of lights is one, but look at that floor! It doesn't look like the same place at all! Now that I have a little bit of extra time today, I have a lot of sewing I want to do, but I also need to address the tables. I literally moved everything I could off the floors and onto three tables and the cutting table. You'll see more on that, hopefully tomorrow. I have a few machines to pack up today, so that's my priority. Some of this stuff had been sitting under the tables in the far back for years. It's now been moved out of the homeless stage and will find a home this week.

Look at the floor!!!!

I've found two things that I no longer want; if anyone is interested, please let me know. This is a project/tool bag with a pocket (velcro) on the front. The central part is made of mesh and features a zipper. I'm not using it, and if anyone can use it, it's yours. It's approximately 12" by 8".

And I have some watch bands for the Fitbit Versa 4 watch. I no longer use the watch, and I have all these extra bands. Can anyone use them? They are yours!

And in all the craziness that was yesterday, I actually got a binding stitched onto a quilt. Yeah!!! The first of at least a dozen that need to be done. I want the tub they are in, so that's an incentive to get to work!!!

And that's it for today! Oh my -- so much going on. Well, that's a total lie! My days are lazy and long. Well, that's a lie as well. The days are long, but not lazy. But no rushing around with massive deadlines - I'm positively lost! I don't know how to work under these conditions!

Once I get to sewing downstairs and tidying, I'm sure my day will be filled with loads of excitement! I still have one set of templates that I'm trying to locate. I've been through a lot of stuff over the last couple of months, but they are there - just where is the question!

And on that note - I'm out of here. No spin class this morning as DH needed the car, so I'd better get some stretching done on my own! It's a challenge to book an early morning appointment with a personal trainer. What's that all about? Can it be that other silly people like myself like to work out early in the morning? It's crazy!!!

Have a super day!!!

Ciao!!!
