Well, to start my day, I seem to have lost the dongle that connects my mouse to the computer. I had to take it out yesterday as I needed the room in the USB port. YES - I should have put the dongle into the mouse where it belongs when not in use, however, I didn't do that. And now? Well, I've searched my backpack, but I haven't found it yet. I'll search again. It's not a big deal, but it's a pain in the butt.
Lesson learned -- do things the right way every time. It's funny because I recently loaned the mouse to someone - I don't recall the circumstances - and when I got it back, the dongle was inside the mouse, not loose like when I handed it to the person. Yikes -- they took more care of my stuff than I do!!
So, did I finish the book last night? Yes -- but it took a long time. Why? I went for my morning walk and then had breakfast, so I was able to read a few more pages while eating. Still over 100 pages to go. I worked all day at The Sewing Machine Store, and then the manager and I went out for dinner. Oh dear -- I really want to go as we have some great conversations, so the book will have to wait.
When I finally got back to the hotel, my phone was completely DEAD! I couldn't read. I had to let the phone charge up a little bit before I was able to restart it, and now I was tethered to the power cord. I'm working my way through the final chapters. Okay, I didn't see that twist coming, but I was getting tired and had to will myself awake to finish the book. Yes -- even the most exciting thriller will not keep me awake when I'm tired.
All I can say is that Riley Sager's books are creepy! And does someone (and there are multiple people in this book), who has a weird mind. Who does that stuff, and who dreams it up to write about it?
Phew -- just rechecked the backpack and there it was! The mouse dongle is safely back in the port on my computer!
We had a great day with all the presentations and lots of questions, which is always a good sign! So much information - I almost feel sorry for those people as they go home and try to digest it all!
Today will be even more information! I love doing the presentations and will return to the drawing board when I get home to create more samples. As much as you have samples ready, it never seems to be enough!
I didn't get a chance to take any pictures yesterday, so there's nothing to share with you. However, I have a link to share with you. In January, I wrote some articles on the differences between interfacings, stabilizers, fusible web, and batting. Those links were on QUILTsocial, and they have now been published in the QUILTsocial magazine. Check it out and download it, as this is great information.
On day one, I focused on the differences between interfacing, fusible web, stabilizers, and batting. In the remainder of the week, the four posts talked about using different types of fusible web. Be sure to download this as it's great information. Feel free to share the link with your friends and perhaps even your guild! In the same issue, there are blog posts about using a serger to create cool projects, as well as embroidery on the Husqvarna Viking Designer Quartz 29. Check it out!!!!
I have been sleeping like a log these last two nights. I was so apprehensive about this hotel, and it's totally fine. People often overreact to things, and the reviews prove that. Anyway, it's time to pack up as I'll be moving to a new city tonight after I finish the last presentation.
So much to do, so little time!
Have a super day!
Ciao!
My guess would be the mouse, dongle and the interior of the backpack are all black. It is sooo hard to find things when everything is black. Both my DH and I look for things that are not black and will gladly pay more for items that are not black and are highly visible. Have a great day. Jackie
ReplyDeleteI use reflective tape on a lot of black things. Then I use a flashlight while looking for the item.. Also, glow in the dark paint helps me locate things.
