Down the rabbit hole!

OH MY!!!!! I forgot that I had mentioned a Virtual Retreat to some people this weekend. I totally forgot to post the links the past couple of days, or even to mention it! I would remember when I was out walking the dogs, and then poof! I totally forgot to add it to the blog post when I got back home.

I'll be away the next two weekends, so those dates won't work.

Well, if no one shows up tonight and tomorrow, that's OK.

The links will be at the bottom of this post, if I remember. And I should mention that Zoom does NOT like the fact that I post those links in an unsecured spot. I get a warning every time I do it! Zoom is very smart -- they know what's going on! Did you also know that I get an email when someone tries to log into one of my links if I'm not on the call? Yep!!!

I have both presentations ready to go for this morning, but Oh my --- I went down some rabbit holes to put them together. I think one of the things I loved most about attending university was the research. I LOVE being in the library. Can this photo be real? Those are awfully tall! It's created with Picasa 2.0 - FAKE!!! The photo came from Wikipedia!

Card catalogues

Seriously -- does this not get your heart pumping with excitement? Granted, these no longer exist, but they were a lot of fun! Our kids have no clue the fun they are missing. Researching on a computer - how boring!!! But very easy to go down a big rabbit hole!

Now I use Google and the online library catalogue! I found some exciting things, and I need to research my own reference library before I put any money on the table! One book I was looking for was available for immediate download on Hoopla. Our city has the BEST subscription to Hoopla. Everything (OK, not everything), but many things I want to browse are available! For FREE!!!

Let's say that if I take my iPad along with me on the trip, I'll have plenty to occupy myself with!

But enough about that - I think everyone will walk away from the presentations today with loads of inspiration and ideas dancing in their heads. Hopefully enough to keep them occupied until the next class!

Yes -- I'm glad I have the time to do this kind of research (always learning) and without a tremendous amount of pressure. Oh, don't worry - I still have loads of things to do -- I'm making progress on the writing assignments, and the quilt trimming. I have a small sample to make, and it will be completed. I have time!

I dropped off a stack of quilts (11) to Quilts of Valour, and some placemats. So that was nice to get it out of the house. Two boxes were donated to the thrift store, and I received a 20% coupon! You cannot make a donation without getting the coupon!

My 20% off coupon!!!

The Pony Express is looking a whole lot better this morning. I'll take a picture later. By the time I go to the quilt retreat in a couple of weeks, it will practically be empty! Hopefully, I can get it empty by the end of the year!

I don't know how to put this, but have you ever considered how others perceive you? I swear they look at me as if I'm a child, or a very eccentric person - DH included, I'm sure! I'm curious about things, and I'm way too enthusiastic (passionate) about most things. Well, I love who I am! I have zero issue with making a fool of myself in public and then laughing about it!

I don't know where that thought came from, but I think it helps explain why I love writing and especially posting pictures of the girls and the boy.

Here's a picture of Bear and Murphy hanging out with me in Studio B.

MOM - I'm babysitting Bear so he doesn't get in trouble

Then here's a picture of Bear with her bodyguard in the backyard. I'm very cautious about putting him out because of hawks. One scare was enough, although it wasn't in our backyard, but there could be other predators out there. I figure if Muprhy is out there, he's somewhat safe, but we still keep an eye on him.

Bear and his bodyguard

Although I always thought the bodyguard was supposed to walk BEHIND the person they are guarding! Great job, Murphy!

Hey Murphy - wait up!

I don't want to be classified as one of those people who can't be without their phone, but around the house? One always needs their camera because you never know when this will happen. Lexi kind of caught me off guard and started backing up as I took the picture. She is so skittish, it's mad!

The sentinels!!!!

But at last, I got somewhat of a group shot of the three of them. It's a real family photo. There's always one who doesn't want to look at the camera!

MOM - Grandma!!! Look at us! We don't want to be here!

However, I was then able to get this picture as I was preparing to go outside for my walk. Even though the girls and the boy all went for their walk in the morning, they all think they can come with me when I go out!

MOM - Grandma - PICK ME!!!!!!

Now, what do you think Bear is trying to tell me? He is such a little devil. Thankfully, he has overcome his trauma of coming here and asks to go outside very frequently. I think he just wants Murphy to come with him. Murphy does her business, then he has to follow suit! They are so cute together. OH gosh - I just put them out and Bear did his business right beside Murphy! Of course, I didn't have the camera with me!

GRANDMA - What does it take to get a meal around here?

Lexi is just Lexi. She enjoys spending time alone. My - how our girls are just like their owners in personality. Bear needs to hang around me more! I think Lexi has moved on from the loss of the couch and seems quite happy with her personal bed, which I make every day for her.

MOM - I'm cool!

I needed to pop into Chapters to pick up something. NO --- that was way before I found I needed a book or two! And it likely wouldn't have been in stock anyway. I'm going to read the online version first and then see if I want the book.

However, I noticed that they had another puzzle on the table, and this time it looked like a real puzzle. Perhaps it took some time for the novelty of what a puzzle is all about to sink in! I didn't get a piece in, although I should have taken the time to do so. What I need is to get a puzzle set out at home and work on it! That would be way more productive than looking at reels, which I hardly do, but occasionally. Those things are a complete waste of time. At least with a puzzle, my brain is active, not turning to mush watching crap!

A puzzle at Indigo

I'm happy to report that the "to-do" list is getting smaller, and the even better news is that I haven't added anything to it in a couple of days. Yeah!!!! Perhaps I can knock a few more things off later today.

My goal is to finish off those dog quilts at the retreat tonight, so whether I sew alone or with someone, I'll be at the sewing machine!!!

Do I dare say that yesterday felt like spring? It was warm, with clouds, but I could feel spring in the air. OK - so my system is totally out of whack!

On that happy note, I'm off to get the day started!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!!

Ciao!!!
