The Pony Express worked overtime yesterday. I started my day here.

And I ended my day here — that's the same screen, just a different angle.

I had a window seat near the back of the plane, so I snapped a couple of shots along the way. I live relatively close to the airport, but not directly under the flight path. However, I can spot my neighborhood from the air. This is a picture of the "downtown" area of my city. We don't really have a financial downtown like many other large cities do. Although we're the 6th largest city in Canada, it's essentially a bedroom community to Toronto. It's a bit weird, but true. We do not have a radio station, newspaper, or TV station. Those buildings are all condos!

While I requested upgrades, I didn't receive them on this flight. Oh well. I tried! There was a fair amount of turbulence, and at one point, we were flying in the clouds/mist, or whatever you want to call it, at 36,000 feet, which is very unusual. We may have been lower - I'm not sure.

I read for a bit and had grabbed a Sudoku booklet to keep me entertained. Oh my goodness — look at the date! I'm working on puzzle 40 of 180. I do NOT need to buy more! I have enough puzzle books and magazines to keep me busy when I give up quilting!

So what did I pick up/drop off? Well, look at this sweetie! Yep -- I flew out to have a very brief visit with M, and picked up Bear. He is so darn cute that when they need a long-term sitter, well, grandma to the rescue!!! Although if they ever have children, they are going to have to make a "few" changes!

| Hello everyone, my name is Bear, and I'm trouble! |
But right off the bat, the little guy caused trouble. I had also put in for an upgrade on the way home, but I would ONLY be able to get an upgrade to business class; there is no room in Premium Economy for a dog carrier. I was watching the app, and when I heard my name, I knew they had a seat in Premium Economy. As I walked up, I said, "I know what you are calling me about, and I have to refuse it." Yes, I was right; we were in Economy, which isn't so bad.
However, when I got to my seat, his bag wouldn't fit under the seat. Now what? I had to wait for most people to board and then went to chat with someone. I had to turn the bag around so the top was squished under the safety equipment under the seat in front of me, with a few inches sticking out where my feet were. But the attendant was happy, and therefore, so was I!
Once the flight took off, I was able to put him on my lap - but only in his carrier. I guess not all dogs are as well-behaved as Bear. He slept like this the entire way home.

The little guy is so dang cute, and he's a magnet. Everyone loves him and comments on how adorable he is! I swear the Vancouver airport was swarming with dogs - big dogs, little dogs, and no announcements to keep your pet in their carrier! In Toronto, it's a totally different vibe. Can you imagine Lexi and Murphy at the airport? Total chaos!
Our taxi (DH) was at the curb to bring us home, and life was good.
However, I was on the plane when the World Series started, and many people had their entertainment sets tuned to the game. However, there was a slight delay in the signal, which we didn't realize until a passenger, who was watching on his phone, shouted, "The Jays just got a three-run homer!" Sadly, they didn't win the World Series, and sadly for LA, they didn't win in their hometown. However, the Jays played exceptionally well and made that series last as long as they could. They should be extremely proud of themselves, although that doesn't give them the title! Someone has to lose. It sucks to be the loser.
As fans, we should be extremely proud of them - they played well. However, I will say that they did lose the game - that ninth inning was brutal. Well, we won't go there. I didn't stay up when it went into extra innings.
The daily routine is going to change significantly because of our houseguest. He's pretty good, but needs to be supervised at all times when he's outside. I don't trust the hawks in the area, and he is little! He was beside himself when I took him out of the car, and he immediately flew up the steps to the house. He had to inspect everywhere before he would even settle down.
I have a bit of extra time this morning, so I wanted to share a couple of pictures from my trip to Saskatchewan. When I took one last look (how many times have I said that?) in the bookroom at the farm, I found a Nancy Drew. Oh my --- it's pretty badly faded, but I grabbed it. Now I can say that I own ONE Nancy Drew.

Speaking of that, I'm reading a book called "We Had a Hunch" by Tom Ryan. Someone here recommended it to me. It's about what happens to teen sleuths when they grow up! I've just started it, so I'm not sure where it's going, but it sounds intriguing!
I spotted these felt mats when I was at the Fabricland in North Battleford. Hmmm -- I had to buy both because they look like something I could put some machine embroidery on!!

And someone asked for the information on the selvage of that bread fabric. Here it is.

Remember that I purchased it from MaMi's Country Quilts in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, and I'm sure they would be happy to ship it to you.
Thanks to all the members of my two groups for this morning's presentations. Because they sent the photos in early, I only had to deal with a few stragglers, and everything is prepped and ready.
Now to give three dogs, three separate walks! Yeah!
Not that I care --- WAIT - -who am I kidding. I care a lot about my airline status. However, I am now less than 500 points away from retaining my 35K status for next year. If I didn't already have one more trip planned, I would certainly figure out a short-haul flight to take to earn those points. I can take THREE 70-lb suitcases with that status for free. That's important to me! And I like boarding in Zone 2.
I'll be back in Studio B this afternoon to quilt one more quilt. However, first, I need to finish piecing the backing.
Have a super day!!!
Ciao!!!
