As I sit here tonight blogging, I have music coming from the restaurant through the door and music coming from the beach through the patio door!!! It's been like that every night!!!! Totally different kinds of music.
My new gazebo
Vendors every where
Camels on the beach
Camel footprints are huge
Me on the beach
Ghost crab
That's an unusual sign
Lots of erosion near the geocache
A stork/heron
The geocache is up there!!!
Technically, I had not got a geocache from Kenya yet and I wasn't going to go home without one and without my Kenya souvenir!!! The only one within any distance of this hotel was 2.4 KM away. So that was our only goal for the day!! Yep -- even DH came with me. Probably more to protect me than anything else.
It required a walk down the beach at low tide. And it's very incredible at how far the water edge moves with the tide. We walked and walked along the beach but the sand was hard packed so it was easy to walk on.
Of course, we were inundated with vendors of all kinds. Some of them have permament shops along the beach, others have service - massages, boat rides, camel rides, you name it -- it's for sale. Some are easy to dissuade - a simple no thank you is enough. But this one guy was pretty persistent and I have no idea even what he was selling. I didn't pay attention in the least.
He must have walked several hundred meters (OK -- a hundred meters) with us on the way to the geocacahe and the same thing on the way back. Persistent!!!!
So we had walked so far down the beach that we were beyond the hotels and the traffic on the beach was getting sparse. but of course as soon as we got close to where the geocache was, there wre two people wandering around. They were not looking for the cache!!!
I had to go up that sketchy set of steps to the top of the cliff. The steps weren't so bad, it was all the sea weed on them. This was why you had to go at low tide because at high tide, that area would be covered in water
I didn't find the cache, but many people didn't before me either and we were told to log with pictures, so I took several pictures and then carefully made my way down the stair case and we were good to walk back to he hotel.
We spotted lots of little critters today. Ghost crabs, lizards, geckos, or whatever they were, the camels and some birds in the water,
Then we grabbed a couple of sofas under a roof and I was home!!! It was almost better than the gazebo back home, but not quite!!!! Where was the waterfall -- OH -- I had the Indian Ocean to lull me to sleep. I might have had a little nap once or twice, but for the most part, I sat out there and read. We had lunch at a Thai restauarant and then more lounging!!! It was a very quiet day and I can't say that I missed any excitement.
But could I do many beach days in a row? I doubt it -- I'd be bored to tears.
Now we've had a late dinner and are somewhat packed as we have an early morning and off on another adventure!!!! Only a few short days left so we better make good use of all the time!!!
On that happy note, I'm out of here!!!
Ciao!!!!

When I went to India I learned that the hawkers take No as the beginning of the negotiation. Just have to ignore them completely.
