An imposter!

Dare I say that everything is done? Well, that would be a total lie! I had so many plans to accomplish so much more, but everything takes longer than planned.

I got done what absolutely needs to get done, but the quilt that needed to be quilted - notice that got downgraded from quilts to quilt. It didn't. I will have to do that next weekend when I'm back! I made a promise, and I need to follow up on that. At least that day when I'm back, I have NOTHING else on the list of things to accomplish.

Let's say that the planes, trains, and automobiles required are booked. I have a room to stay each night, and it doesn't involve a sketchy Airbnb - at least that I know of! But I'll be on the move for the next week, so it's going to be fun! And of course, I have lots of luggage, which I LOVE even more. NOT!!

Some emails got sent, I dropped a book off at the library, did two errands at the bank, and popped into the drug store, only to arrive home and check my email, and there's a book at the library! I didn't have time or want to walk, so I took the car. That was extremely foreign. Imagine having to walk from the parking lot to the library? I usually just walk right up to the front door! I'm not used to doing errands by car.

What was weird was when I was at the library, my card was refused! The reason? My library card would expire before the book needed to be returned. What? Well, remember when I said a couple of weeks ago that I renewed my card? Apparently, it didn't get renewed because it was about to expire. So I talked to the librarian and all is good. I wonder if DH's card was renewed that same day.

At the drug store, I was at the self-checkout when I felt someone touch me on the shoulder. OH - is there a problem? She told me to wait, then used her authorization card, and then told me I could proceed. Hmm -- what did she just do? OH -- she gave me the senior discount!! I can never remember, and I don't usually think to go there on seniors' day. But I saved $5, so it was worth it.

I had to chuckle because I bought two things for my feet and a sleeve of chocolates. I did NOT get a discount on the chocolates. Don't seniors NEED chocolates? I guess they are a luxury!

Did I mention that the weather is gorgeous here! No snow, sunny, and relatively warm! I love it!

I'm pretty happy with the project that I made for this weekend. It's technically not finished, but I want people to be able to see the back, and it's always good to see the wee tiny mistakes! They are design elements, not mistakes. But I had loads of fun and I LOVE IT!!!! It would make an excellent owner's class for anyone with an embroidery machine. Don't ask! I might actually expand upon it, and it would then make an excellent owner's class.

While working on the samples, I had some corners to cut off.

Cut-off corners

Did I keep them? The answer is NO. They are too small as they were only 2" squares, so into the scrap bin they went! See -- I am learning. However, I have to teach my SIL about what size makes a good scrap! She's learning!

The scraps are in the scrap box

So Little Bear did NOT want to cooperate. Do you think we have an imposter in the house? My aunt bought this little stuffed Bear a while ago, and it sits in Studio B. I thought I had better get a picture of the two of them together before he goes home!!!

Bear's doppleganger

I think the girls and the boy know that something is going on. The big suitcase is parked in the kitchen and is almost full. I plopped Bear's quilt on top of it, and he immediately hopped up and went to sleep. No more sleeping in his dog bed. If his quilt goes, he goes! Something is happening! The quilt is made from minky, after all - M and I made it for him quite a while ago, and he always travels with it. It's his security blanket.

Asleep on his quilt

I got the thank-you cards written for the dog quilts, along with the washing instructions, and everything is ready for pickup. Hopefully they come soon, but if not, no big deal. The quilts are officially done!!! And that is another eight quilts to leave my house!

I feel like I'm leaving the place in a total mess, when it's not that bad. The office is always the dumping ground for everything, and I feel like it's a mess. OK -- it's a mess. Studio B? It's in good shape, but a lot is waiting for me to do when I get back!

I hear the dryer just shut off, so it's time to pack the clothes, and then I'll be ready. Yep -- I'm writing this at night because I have an early flight and because I'm checking luggage, I have to be there at least 60 minutes in advance. And with Bear, I can't get a boarding pass until I get to the ticket counter.

And can you tell me why this happens? When I booked this ticket weeks ago, I chose an aisle seat. My preference in my profile is an aisle seat. But when I checked in this morning, I was put in a middle seat. Seriously? I HATE when they move me around. I don't care that I'm a single traveler - check my ticket - I'm taking a dog and I have to sit with that kennel on my lap the entire way because it barely fits under the seat. Sigh......... First world problems - I know.

And on that note, I'm out of here!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Ciao!!!

  1. Mistakes a “designed element” - love it!
And shame on them for no discount on chocolate!!
Hope you and Bear had a good flight.

  2. The chocolate might have been on sale. Most places senior discount only applies to regular priced items.
