I thought I would share a couple of photos with you to help with the fabric selection. This fabric should match what you received if you purchased the kit from Sew Sisters.

Nine light value lights |
Nine medium value fabrics |
Eleven dark value fabrics |
Yes - I realize that turquoise (fifth from the bottom) doesn't look too dark. It is actually an accent in the center block and used as a tiny piping in the binding.
The darks, the medium, the lights - for comparison |
Whatever you use - make sure that you LABEL everything. I attached this label to each fabric. I took the name of the fabric as per the pattern and added the colour that we actually used. Use the spreadsheet that I sent to you to make this conversion. It will save you a LOT of time.
Label for each fabric - I stapled it to the selvedge of each piece |
Alternatively you can make a fabric key - just a paper with each fabric glued beside the appropriate name. This is just an example - it is NOT from this quilt.
Fabric Key (NOT from Amish with a Twist - just an example) |
And now for the homework. You will make TWELVE of the small star blocks in Installment A
FOUR will be pink |
FOUR will be blue |
FOUR will be brown |
The pressing for each star block |
You can leave me a comment on this page if you need further help or feel free to send me an e-mail.
Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your little stars at our next class.
