The sun is still there!

Well, well  --- another hurdle has been passed. There are two UFO sessions this morning, and will anyone be paying money? Late last night, I felt like the Little Engine that Could late last night and early this morning. "I think I can, I think I can." Then that changed to "I know I can. I know I can." You'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see if the little train pulled into the station - on time!

When I went for my walk in the afternoon, I had the shock of my life. OK -- so I'm exaggerating, but look what I saw.

A shadow!

A shadow! We haven't seen shadows in WEEKS. But yes, the sun is still there, but well hidden behind the clouds. However, yesterday was a GLORIOUS day, and I went for my usual afternoon walk. I would have walked a bit longer, but there was no need. I was well over my daily quota.

The SUN

We had a blast at the One Block Wonder class and have TONS of e-mails to follow up with later today. Who knew you could get so creative with ONE piece of fabric. OK -- so some of my samples have a few other bits thrown in!

I needed to dig through my fabrics to find something for Diane to sew. Remember that basket on the cutting table.

One of many baskets of fabric to sort through

When the basket went back into the stash room, this is what it looked like. OH -- Minus that black fabric on the top. More on that in a few minutes.

The much-culled basket of fabric

Yep -- a mere shadow of its former self! I found some panels that will NOT work for quilts, and I managed to give two of them away yesterday to a young sewist! They are gone out of the house!

I have three more items that are up for grabs.

Stuff that is up for grabs

If you have someone in your family who loves Barbie, this is a Barbie panel. It's like a room that you make out of fabric. So it's a 3-D thing with the carpet (the big blue and pink piece) and then fold-up walls. It's cool but very specific!

Barbie Folding Bedroom panel

There are two of them, so let me know if you want one. I don't want any money for them, but you HAVE to have a plan for it. You can't just take it for your stash. And if no one wants them, then I have a plan. What boggles my mind is why I would buy TWO of them? Seriously -- I needed to have my head examined. And I will confess that I don't remember buying these at all, and I didn't even know they were in the basket.

Two Barbie panels

Then I found this panel. It's a counting book. Up for grabs if anyone wants. Again --- you MUST have a purpose for it and want to make it soon, as I don't want this going back into someone's stash.

OH -- I think the third thing in the giveaway pile is this fabric. Does anyone want it? I'll never use it, and why or why did I buy it? It's a licensed print, and I don't know for what. World Wide Fighters? Anyway, let me know if someone has a good place to use it.

Black fabric on the chopping block

For any of the above, send me an e-mail at elainetheriault@gmail.com

I got to try out my new camera yesterday, and it's fantastic! I had struggled with live cameras previously and trying to get the camera to focus when it was moved. This one has auto-focus, and it's the best thing ever!

My new camera

Oh, Miss Lexi! She's been feeling pretty sad and lonely since DH was away most of last week. She's also very skittish and hates coming into a closed-in room. So imagine my surprise when she sidles right up beside my chair as I was writing the blog yesterday.

MOM -- where's my DAD?

I'm doing very well on the walking. That's a lot of KM in two weeks! But I find it so therapeutic -- I'd be lost if I couldn't walk!

Walking KM so far this year

I'm ripping through the first part of the Lord of the Rings Challenge. Yeah!

I'm trying to find one specific project, and where the heck is it? No idea, but I'll keep searching. I'd like to find it soon as I would like to have it for Feb 4. There are too many places where I put it, and so far, I've not been lucky. Later today, when I have no immediate deadlines, I will have time to focus on that. But -- I still have a few e-mails owing to some of the groups, which should be a priority!

I finished the book The Power of Habit. The second time reading it, it still has good information. Got a bad habit you want to break? Write down the who, the why, the when, and the where of the habit. What are the cues? Then try to figure out what the reward is. Only then will you be able to make a change. My face one? Well, someone suggested it was nervousness, which is entirely possible. But I also think it relates to allergies and sensitive skin. I'll see how that goes.

Now I have THREE other books on my audiobook shelf, and ALL three are popular books that I had to wait weeks for. Of course, I'm reminded that other people want to read these books. I know -- but technically, I have THREE weeks, so leave me alone! I started The It Girl by Ruth Ware. I know this is going to have some wild twist in it. But what?

On that note, I'm out of here!!

Have a super day and if the sun is out -- get out there and enjoy it! It was minus 4 C yesterday, which is NOT cold, especially when the sun is out. I didn't even wear a hat! I am way warmer when wearing a scarf than if I don't. So the next time you find it cold outside -- wrap your neck in a scarf. Makes a HUGE difference.

Ciao!!!!

    1. Thanks Torry --- yep --- I asked DH and he knew what it meant and asked me where I got it. It's apparently the OLD logo. I put it in my novelty prints and I'll figure out what to do with it when I get to those fabric bins.
