Still on TRACK!!!!!!

I do not know what has happened to me, but I made a plan of what had to be done and I am NOT wavering from that plan. This is NOT like me at all. I am the first to be side tracked. Perhaps I have finally gotten serious about getting things done. Oh boy - can't wait to tackle those shelves with the sewing stuff.

So let's see - what did I get done yesterday? - well I got all the paper pieced patterns photocopied from Elm Creek and they are READY to sew when I get back to the sewing machine. That doesn't seem like a big job, but when you only get ONE section in the book and you need four - well it took time. I still have 50 blocks to sew and about half of those are paper piecing so if you are in my Elm Creek class - that is a hint. All the blocks that provide paper piecing instructions - we are going to paper piece them!!!!!

And while that was photocopying (Yes - my all-in-one printer/photocopier/fax/scanner won't PRINT, but it will photocopy), I was back at the quilting machine doing that URGENT quilt that needed to be one. Not urgent for me, but for the customer. My sympathy quilt and it was big (90 by 100), but fortunately I was able to convince (I just said NO) the customer that she did NOT want this custom quilted.

Customer quilt.

For sure I am going to make that quilt report card. I was not going to press this quilt as the owner had just given it to me so it had not sat long. Then I had a look at it and thought - no it needs to be pressed. As I was pressing it - I found a seam that had NOT been sewn correctly and was wide open. This is the SECOND quilt in the last week that had a problem with the construction. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!    Anyway - I fixed it, but now to consider - is this part of customer service or do the owners need to be charged for that?

So that leaves the pillow shams, the t-shirt quilt to be sewn together, quilted and bound and one more quilt to quilt and it is a custom one, but not big. Thank God. I even have time to get to the gym today and out hiking tomorrow!!!!

After the customer picked up her quilt, I headed back to the studio to see what could be done with the t-shirt quilt. And look........................

All the shirts are backed with the fusible tricot and mostly cut to size. The two outside strips are sewn together leaving just the center to finish. I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY with the results so far. Yes - I am going to shift some of the dark in the bottom middle to the middle top.

I am on my way to a breakfast this morning, so not much time for blogging, but if you are still looking for suggestions for yourself for Christmas - you should get the book called The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

The Happiness Project

I don't have time to tell you about it right now, but honestly this is a MUST READ book for everyone. Well - it just fits with my philosophy and I am only on the first chapter.

That's it for now - got to get dressed and get out of here!!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Ciao!!!!!
