So much going through my head this morning that I'm not sure where to start!
Let's start with the EXIT game. This one is a graphic novel, and sometimes the dialogue is hard to follow, but the storyline isn't so important; it's just getting to the next puzzle that's important. I had to peek at the first of three clues the other night. One needed to know three things to solve the puzzle, and I had figured out two of them. The missing component was the order. So I tried all the combinations (6 or 9 - I forget), and I MISSED the answer for whatever reason. It was in my face, but I couldn't see it.
Then, after peeking at the clue, it confirmed my two theories, and this time, I didn't miss the answer. But I was "mad" at myself because I was on the right track despite many misgivings from DH that I was out to lunch. He should be more supportive when I think outside the box! Perhaps that got me flustered and made me miss the answer! YES - I'll blame it on him!
So, last night, we moved on to the next puzzle. And after we both arrived at the page with the puzzle, we were stuck. We needed to find something, and after some thought, I told him where to find it, and there it was. But now what?
Well, can you believe that at 3:40 AM, the answer just popped into my head? Could it be so simple? So, after lying in bed for a while, I decided to get up and solve the puzzle, and I was right! It took a mere 60 seconds to put things in order. Now, was I thinking about the puzzle subconsciously, or did I intentionally think about it while awake? I don't remember! But all is good, and I'll give him a hint or two when he wakes up.
However, in the future, I will REFUSE to let him get me into a flap when he thinks I'm out to lunch. I would have had that third puzzle if I paid attention!
But then my confidence in sewing took a nosedive last night. I am working on finishing my Chatsworth quilt. All that remained was to sew the two halves together, and I needed the design wall for something else, so I sewed the two pieces together. So, I pinned and sewed the center seam. When I went to press it, it was wrong. I sewed the two halves together backward. How can that be? I took it off the wall and pinned it immediately.
Then, I was working on a facing for another small project, and there was a minor problem with the corners. I decided I could fudge it, but it looked like crap!
That was the final straw. I left the room and went to watch a movie with DH. Yep, I love that theatre seating. It's easy to get cozy—the leather seats are cold, but a quilt soon warms things up! Lexi is fascinated by the lighting!
This morning, after gaining confidence in solving that puzzle, I decided to tackle the issues I left in Studio B. Sorry, there are no pictures; you're just going to have to imagine all this. I ripped out the center seam. When I went to pin it together correctly, I realized I made another BIG mistake in sewing the long seam in the first half of the quilt. SERIOUSLY? I could have died at that point. How did I make that mistake? It hung on the design wall for several days, and I even checked the pattern, and all was good.
I did not take a picture then, so I can't tell you how that happened. The pattern repeat is pretty apparent. How could I get it wrong?
So I ripped out that seam and sewed the pieces together as they were supposed to be, and all was good. What a total disaster! I was only listening to the radio when all that happened. Sheesh—my brain must be somewhere else!
Then I looked at the facing. Hmm—I can fix it, so I took it partially apart this morning and will now attempt to fix it. It is something that will be given away, and the quality was a tad beneath my standards! And I'm being generous!
And now we know why things take so much longer to do than we think!
I was going to have some other stuff done yesterday, but that didn't happen, so I have to try and squeeze it in today.
On the positive news side - I have taken my weekly pill! Let's hope that the rest of today is better than yesterday! But we all have days like that, and you just move on!
Murphy and I pass two gas stations on our walk. They are competitors and are kitty-corner to each other. One is always .3 cents cheaper than the other. Yesterday, the small company was lower by more than 1 cent, which never happens. I spotted an employee of the larger company taking a photo of the price across the street. When Lexi and I walked by, the prices were "correct." Someone didn't get the memo!

Gas prices fluctuate hourly! |
But it's just so weird, as the prices can vary from brand to brand by 2 cents or more at any given time. The most volatile time is early morning.
I am looking for quilts from classes I taught over the years. Did you or anyone you know do Rosewood Cottage, preferably the class at Rui's Needlebed in 2013? Here's a link to my blog with the first names of the participants, but I don't have emails or any contact information. And the store is closed, so I don't know how to get in touch. Hmm - I could check Facebook.
I'm also looking for Candy Cane Lane, which I taught at Cockadoodle in 2010. I don't have anything on my blog for this one, although I may have a registration list with the project. I must check.
The third one I'm looking for is Enchanted Autumn. I see two finished quilts here, but I now need to find the owners.
The other two are Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, taught at Ruti's Needlebed in 2011, and Farmer's Wife, taught at Hobby Horse in 2012. Here are some more names for Farmer's Wife.
Shoot—I've run out of time! It would be awesome if anyone could help find those quilts.
And on that note, I'm off to have a BETTER day today!
Ciao!!!
