Stupid stupid stupid!!!!!!!

And I'm talking about myself here!!!!!

Seems there is a whole lot of other stuff going on this blog and not much quilting or cycling!!!   I hope to change that real soon.  Anyway - as you know I always have my camera with me. And yesterday in preparation for some upcoming stuff - I took a couple of pictures at work.

Then this morning when I went to take a picture, I looked in all my bags and NO CAMERA.   I thought for a few minutes - oh shoot - I remember taking the pictures are work.  Now the part that bothers me is - where is the camera at work?   At one point, I remember putting it on my desk and as I was walking out the door - I thought - I should put that camera in a less visible spot so I think I dumped it on my chair. And I remember being in the back taking photos.  In what sequence did those two events occur?  No idea -  so I don't remember if the camera got left in the back or did I miss it in my office when I left?????

I tell you - I am SICK.  I cannot believe I did that.  I almost went into a panic this morning. I have two classes this morning and I like to take pictures and I NEED that bloody camera this weekend to do some blogging.  Oh yes - I am sick. Not like it was just over night - no big deal - but TWO WHOLE DAYS.

OK - let's not panic. What are the options?  Hmmmm - I know I have a small (brand new) point n shoot camera.  I know exactly where the box is - but there is NOTHING in the box.  No camera, no battery, no cord. Oh and let's just say that I also had my video camera at work yesterday but just before leaving I thought to myself - you better bring that camera home.  No thought to the digital camera. GRRRRRRRR   - stupid stupid stupid!!!!!

OK - so that small camera has to be here somewhere. I have searched the house high and low - no camera - I did find my old point n shoot - dead batteries and no chargers to be found.

Let's just say that a bit more tidying MUST be done - there is camera stuff all over the flipping house and I'm not happy.

I found FOUR cameras in my search - my little point n shoot - the old one.  The blue one????   No idea what that is.  That other monster is a film camera!!!!!   Good grief.  Hey - I found rolls of film too!!!!   The other one is my grandfather's camera which I will never part with - a beautiful Pentax that takes amazing shots.

Cameras cameras - but NOT the right one

Now if M was here - I would have woken her up and accused her of taking my camera. I doubt that she would have no reason as she also has a good quality digital camera - I am just saying that to tease her. But I could have borrowed her camera this weekend, but NO - she is now in Vancouver with her camera.   You see how I am my own worse enemy??????

So now my kitchen looks like this........................

Camera stuff all over the counter and tables

This is why it is so important for everything to have a home.  ALL the camera stuff should be in one place. Then imagine how easy it would have been to find that small point n shoot, the battery and a charger so I could be in business.  I believe the point n shoot has a higher pixel rating than my digital camera.

Now if the camera isn't at work - well I know it is - just hope it didn't develop legs and walk away.  STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!   At this point - I don't even care about the camera - it needed major sevicing anyway but I WANT the damn card in it.

So I must just get over it - there is NOTHING I can do until Monday morning when the office opens.  Just breath - relax - breath - relax. I will continue to look for the small point and shoot - I am certain that it will serve my purpose for the weekend IF I can find it.   In the meantime - there is my camera on my phone which I used this morning. Works but not the same.

Thank goodness I didn't realize the camera was missing last night because I was busy quilting a quilt and it is done and ready for delivery today.

Customer quilt - DONE

As I was searching - I found a few other things that need to be dealt with.  I got this from Jill in California who sent me some license plates a LONG LONG time ago.  Jill - I have five to send back to you - they have been sitting here FOREVER.   Thanks so much!!!!!!!    She also sent me this little embroidered cow - it's so cute!!!!

Little Cow!!!!!!

Oh yes - speaking of the kitchen.  I am NOT kidding - DH and I are skirting around that thing like crazy.  No one dares leave a dirty dish on the counter. You better mop up all spills and god forbid that the dish washer doesn't get started over night!!!!  It is pretty funny. With the exception of my madly ripping the pantry apart (which is where some of the camera stuff is stored), that kitchen is spotless!

In case you are wondering about those four EMPTY (well - near empty rooms) upstairs - I think I am going to empty the rest of the house into those four rooms - sort EVERTYHING into like categories.  I"m on a tear so watch out!!!!!!!!!!!

On that note - I am out of here to see what I can unearth in this mess.  And we aren't even hoarders - far from it!!!!!!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funerals

I am the most emotonal person in the world   (OK - not really - but I cannot help but cry at a funeral).  I absolutely dread going to a funeral or a visitation even for someone I don't really know like the husband of a friend.

I am fine until the moment I walk in and see the family members. Then I start blubbering. I remember going to a funeral of a young girl who had passed very suddenly.  She was an only child and when I spoke to her parents at the visitation, they were so calm and collected. They didn't shed a single tear - well maybe they did at the service. And there is me - blubbering all over the place.

And sometimes the situation can be very awkward.  Let's say there is someone that you know from one aspect of their life. You are part of that person's life but just for one aspect of their life - like a hobby  - so they are an acquaintance, not really a true buddy.  You go to the visitation and you are the only one from your group. After chatting with the immediate family, there is no one left to talk to. It is best to go in numbers - at least there is someone to talk to and that takes my mind off why I am there - or at least I stop blubbering!!!!

All that to say that yesterday I went to the visitation for Eleanora. She was a part of our Monday Motivator group for many years.  She fell ill a couple of years ago and we saw less and less of her as time went on and she became focused on getting better so she could spend time with her grandson.  We did visit her occasionally at her home.  Anyway - I was very glad that I went to the visitation as I did not get to the visitation of another Monday lady who also recently passed away and I feel bad about that.

I finally got around to unpacking - more or less - the box of stuff that I collected while I was at Market. Only because I needed to get to the business cards that I collected.  And look what I found - a fabric license plate.  Wow - when I got home, I already had this one. I must have purchased it TWICE - DUH!!!!!  No worries - I owe a few people a couple of plates still.

One more fabric license plate

Here is a quick preview of a new project that I'm working on.  Remember those strips that I had at the retreat???   Well - never got anything done with them so now it is time to work on them. I won't reveal the project until it is done - but it is going to be a knock out!!!!

New project started
This is made with the new Northcott Stonehenge brights that are to die for!!!!!   Six different colors - five gradations of each.  Oh yes - I'm in love!!!!!!

I was on my way to work yesterday - no I was on my way to the visitation yesterday when I spotted this car ahead of me.  WHOA - do you think they have spacial issues?????   I grabbed my camera that was on the front seat and snapped this shot while we were stopped at the traffic light.

STAY BACK!!!!!

Now if that van had a standard transmission and a new driver - I can understand, but I rather doubt that van was standard.  I mean there were FLASHING lights in the back window - one said STAY and the other said BACK.

Let's just say that there is so much going on right now - that I barely have time to think.  So much to tell you, so little time and there is only so much I can load you down with in one day!!!!

What did you think of my bomb shell yesterday???   I will have to take pictures of my kitchen - either DH and I are skirting the issue and being very tidy since it will be pretty obvious who is making any mess - if it's not me - it must be him.  Or it was M who was making the mess.  Now with no third party involved, we are much more accountable!!!!!    And the fridge - I've never seen my fridge stay so clean for an entire week.  I'm in heaven!  I"ll take pictures to show you.

On that note - I have to get the day started - well who am I kidding - it started at least 4 hours ago - but time to move to the next task on the agenda.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Independence Day!!!!!

It's been a long time coming, but Independence Day has arrived at our house. Yes - there are a few mixed emotions about the whole thing, but overall I'm thrilled - for all parties involved. It is something that I've wanted to happen for the last couple of years and well - it has happened!!!!!

My kid has flown the coop!  She's gone!!!!   Yipppeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooooops - I mean.................

I wanted her to live in residence when she went to college, but NOPE - she had too cooshy of a life at home and so that didn't happen. And I have basically wanted her to move out for the last couple of years. One of us was going to kill the other soon!

Here is an interesting quote that pretty much sums up the last couple of years at our house.

“Adolescence is perhaps nature’s way of preparing parents to welcome the empty nest.”
Karen Savage and Patricia Adams

While I miss M a lot and Little Sammy is beside herself - this really was the best move for all parties.

So now you are wanting to know the details????   Remember that photo I posted yesterday - about having a fabric mule picking up license plates. Did you notice where those plates came from????

Here's the picture again.

Row by Row license plates

Can you see which STATES those are from???   Yep - that would be Idaho and Oregon.

Here's what happened..................

But first - a bit of background about me.   I left home when I was 17 and lived in my own apartment. My parents taught us to be independent (and there's a whole nother story about that to come!)   Anyway - then I left for one year to live in various parts of Canada with a youth program called Katimavik. After that was over, I then drove from Regina to Toronto by myself in TWO days.  Don't ask me how I did it - I shudder now at the thought!   I've lived down east ever since.

M decided a while back that she wanted to move away from home.  I was thrilled - then she told me where she wanted to live and I wasn't so thrilled, but given my background - I wasn't going to discourage her.  We must follow our dreams and build on our OWN decisions.  She had some very grandiose ideas about what her life would be like and I have to say that her parents did intervene somewhat.  I won't go into details, but let's just say that I could NOT wait for that moving day to happen.  I have been ready to pack her things months ago and personally pay for all the shipping just to speed things along.

At last after some stalling, the move date was picked and I was secretly counting the days.  Gosh - I sound like an ungrateful mother!  The sorting, the packing, the repacking and at last the car was filled. There was much discussion about the distance and the fact that she wanted to do it alone.  We put our foot down and so DH got the task of going with her!!!!

I bought her a GPS as a going away present. That is a very useful tool and it got used the entire trip.

So where did she end up????   She is in Vancouver!!!!!!!   Yep - she wanted to drive there by herself across the US.  She had a plan all mapped out over 7 driving days.  I was able to follow them on Google Maps  - actually the Row by Row map and anticipate the roads they were going to take.  I simply picked quilt stores along the route. Called them to see if they still had plates - and so M and DH became my fabric mules!!!   How cool is that!  Those are probably the most special plates from my entire collection of license plates.

So M is now working at her new home for an on-line company  - Shopify - as a customer service rep.  She is currently doing training and she is living with her aunt - another area where we took a bit of intervention. That situation is tempoary as she investigates exactly where she would like to end up and she needs to save some money.

Here is another quote about empty nesters that I think is very appropriate.............

“You see much more of your children after they leave home.”
—Lucille Ball

Now I doubt that this one is true - but she was never home so not a lot has changed.    Oh my god - who am I kidding - a LOT has changed.   Let's see though - she left on November 5 (am I good at keeping a secret or what!).  Had to find a sitter for Little Sammy because everyone was away while I was at the retreat but Little Sammy's sitter was also good at cleaning the house and I came home to a sparkling clean kitchen and bathroom that belonged to M.  So now you know why I am going through the sorting process one more time.  While I am not throwing her stuff away - let's just say that it wasn't very tidy and so I am packing boxes, folding clothes and putting things away.   I have reclaimed FOUR rooms upstairs and well - wait until you see my plans for those rooms!!!!

But when there is a mess - we know who to blame - just ourselves. When I clean the fridge (or have it cleaned) - I know it will stay clean.  And I could go on and on but I won't.  I think you get the picture!!!!

Speaking of pictures - here are some pictures that M sent to me from her trip. No explanation as to what they are so I am going to make it up!!!!

The trip begins
The tripometer is at zero so I am assuming this was the start.

GPS on Day Two -
They stayed in Chicago the first day. DesMoines the next. Can't remember the next day, then Denver, Salt Lake City, near Boise, Portland and on into Vancouver.

Snow in the mountains

CARS

Happy happy happy!!!!!

Picture of a quilt they knew I loved!!!!!!
The stats

Wow - there you have it!!!!!   I'm not going to tell anyone, but I think M was actually happy to have the company and I think DH drove a LOT of the way. That freed M up to take pictures and video!!!!

Change is good - I'm thrilled for her. I'm so excited as she moves into the world of getting established and seeing what new adventures await her. She is a phone call or a text message or a SKYPE call away.  This is so good for all parties involved, I am beyond myself with excitement!!!!  (mostly for me!)

On that note - I'm out of here.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the row by row continues.....................

Wow - this working full time sure eats into my pleasure time.  Thank goodness my work time and my pleasure time revolve around the same thing or I'd have to quit!  Focusing is going to become even more important as time goes on.

And I have to do something about e-mail.  I just can't seem to get to them all which isn't a good thing.

This row by row is NEVER going to go away.  I am still carrying two envelopes in my purse that have to be mailed.  I tried to mail them on the weekend, but the post office was closed!   So they are still in my purse. Another envelope arrived yesterday with three more plates and I received these plates in the picture on the weekend.

More license plates

I will say that these plates were hand chosen by me and picked up by another one of my fabric mules. Oh yes - so nice to have fabric mules across the country.

I was editing pictures for QUILTSocial last night so there are no pictures other than the one above for my blog. I'll be blogging for QUILTSocial again next week and I have something very exciting to share with you - NO - it is not the EPIC. I tried to get one, but they are rarer than a newborn baby's teeth so no chance to get my hands on one ...........yet.

And errands - oh boy - people have to work full time to really appreciate efficiency in doing errands - hence why I haven't gotten to the post office yet.  I managed to get to the library and the book store last night while dinner cooked in the oven and filled up with gas on the way to work this morning.  I best make a list of errands that need to be done - keep the stuff in the car so when I am out and about - I can group them.

Oh yes - my big experience of the day yesterday was the dentist.  Now I don't hate the dentist like I have in the past, but it is an unpleasant task at the best of times. Yesterday I was feeling like crap and I told the hygeniest when I arrived to NOT lecture me about flossing.  I don't normally do that, but I was in no mood to get the flossing lecture.  However I think she took it out on me.  She was poking and prodding and making my gums bleed like they have never bled before.  And I got a mini-lecture!  OK - I brought floss to work and a tooth brush.

But I have to give her credit - I had no pain - just hate the sound of the instruments and the picking! It took forever and I was getting agitated. At last I was SPRUNG from the chair after a thumbs up from the dentist and another mini-lecture on flossing.

I have to say that I moved to an electric tooth brush a while back and at first I hated it. However I love the toothbrush now and for some reason I used a regular tooth brush for a couple of days - must have been away and OH MY - my teeth were a mess compared to the electric toothbrush.

Well - time to get to work.

Have a great day!!!!

Ciao!!!!

Back to work!

In all aspects - it was back to work.   Back to the gym - I had also missed the gym for a few days prior to going to the retreat and I was starting to feel like a slug. Then it rained for a good part of our retreat which was good for sewing, not so good for taking a walk outside.  So yes - I needed to get back to the gym and it felt good! Nothing beats a good work out and then sitting in the steam room.

Then off to Monday Mania group. It was funny as we left the retreat - some of us won't see each other for the next six months until the next retreat and others - it was "see you tomorrow!"  Which was good because then you didn't have tons of questions about the retreat - because some of them were there.  I did more cutting - not that I need to prep any more projects, but this one has been sitting around for a long time waiting to be cut.  Time to get er done!!!!

And I have to say that I was excited to get to work!  I know - that is just wild. And as much as I wanted to sew all day - that didn't happen.  A meeting for a couple of hours in the morning and then e-mail and paperwork in the afternoon and the next thing I knew - the day was gone. And at last the two patterns that I had been editing are now done!  Well almost - there is ONE line on each to be added and then they can be uploaded. Wow - that was a task!

Today however I hope to get some sewing done. Although I do have a lot of action items from the meeting. I also started going through my box of stuff from Market as that has to be done and I need to do some follow up e-mails.

At last back home.  I left the office at 5:30 PM and was home by 6:05 PM - no stress - no stopping and starting - no bumper to bumper.   Oh yes - the 407 costs money, but it is so worth every penny. I think I have at last worked out the most time efficient route that also doesn't cost a crazy amount of money per day. Works for me!

I did manage to get everything unpacked - at least unpacked from the car.  There was tons of stuff hanging out in the car from the summer and I just crammed the retreat stuff on top.  Sadly there was a casuality. This is my favourite umbrella. I've had this umbrella for years - I mean years - I bought it when I lived in Montreal which was over 25 years ago. I loved the wooden handle and the cord so you could sling it over your shoulder instead of carrying it.  I took the bus and subway many times in Montreal and never lost it - obviously!!!

My favourite umbrella

However I don't think it was closed properly and something heavy sat on it and one of the metal pieces broke. But it was getting tired anyway.  It sure doesn't owe me a thing. So sadly it goes in the garbage today.

Broken umbrella
I am NOT a good consumer.  I keep things forever - well I don't just toss things because the color is out of style (it's an umbrella after all) or because I get tired of it. I keep things until they are worn out. OK - not everything. But you know what I mean. Well I hope you do!  But I am still in my pitching and purging mood - just not a lot of time - so have to keep that energy going because once and for all - I want ALL this mess gone away. Except the studio of course - that is sacred territory and NOTHING gets thrown away - yet. Once the house is dealt with - then perhaps I will still have some energy to cope with the sewing stuff.

While I managed to get everything into the house from the car, it sat in the hallway.  However I did also manage to take one bag at a time to the studio and more or less unloaded it and tried to put it away.

The car is emptied - the hallway is full
Now some of that stuff is NOT from the car - just the stuff to the end of those double doors. The rest is the stuff to be donated which is still siting in the hall.   Now I have THREE bags of stuff to carry back and forth to work until those projects get done!!!!!!

The shear volume of stuff is my biggest problem.  If I could only put everything away and only focus on ONE thing - my head would be clear, my work space would be clear and I could actually get something done - the same way I do when I am at a retreat. The problem is all these deadlines - this needs to be prepped for a class, this needs to be done for a customer!   I am way better than I ever was, but still a long way to go.  I'm working on it.

The good news is that I finished the checkerboard border on this customer quilt.   I love the way it looks. Now I have one more border and then it is ready for quilting.  I am not sure what to put.  I thought an eight pointed star (on point), but the blocks are going to be too small - way too much work and I don't think it will add anything. I am tending towards a piano key border.  Nancy and I discussed it this summer in PEI and we had it all worked out but did I write down that last border idea????   Nope - but I am certain we talked about piano key.  So it is off to EQ7 to reconfigure this quilt to see what I can come up with.

Border done on customer quilt

Ronda - you will be happy to know that I have now surpassed the 100 page mark in my book!!!   However I am certain that I have read this book - but I can't remember how it ends so I will keep reading!

On that note - I am out of here.  Got to get ready for work!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Memories!!!

Well - I didn't cry when I left the house. But we took a TON of pictures including some pretty funny ones which I will post this week. OK - maybe just one funny one.  For anyone who doesn't know - Quilter's Mis Bee Haven - has been sold.  The closing date is December 1 - there are two more groups going in before it is closed forever as a quilt retreat.

I was up early and collecting photographic memories around the house while the others slept.  Then it was straight to work to get some things done before I left.  I always have big plans about staying until 2 PM or even right up until check out time of 3 PM.  But by lunch, I'm  ready to leave.

Packing up and cleaning up was a breeze - everyone pitched in and all the cars were loaded in record time. Stuff was claimed in the fridge - someone was calling out - whose vegetable broth is this??  "I don't know" I say - just throw it out. Then I realized it was mine to thin my squash soup of which I brought some home so now I have nothing to thin it out with!  DUH!!!!!

But we had such an amazing time at the retreat.  A HUGE thanks to everyone for making it a super fun and productive time!

A few of us worked on some panel projects.  I will share in a day or two.  Tish had brought a panel that she didn't want.  She was going to cut it up but when I saw it - NO WAY!!!!   It had six smaller panels on it and four even smaller pictures.  I studied the panel for a few seconds - knew what I was going to do and cut one of the panels off the bigger section. The other panels disappeared equally as fast. They were super cute.

My panel from Tish
Now that was too cute to cut up!!!!

What to do - what to do?   AHA - brilliant moment.  I had each of the ladies make a 4 inch square for me out of fabric that they were using.  These will make the backing of the small wall hanging and will be an awesome memory of the last retreat at Quilter's Mis Bee Haven.   Mine of course - is the huge hunk of Asian fabric at the bottom.  I think I will change that up and frame a piece of  muslin with the Asian fabric so I can write the story of the quilt on it.   It is going to be awesome!!!!!

Blocks to make the backing of the friendship wall hanging

Thanks to all who without protest (for the most part) made little blocks for me!!!!

And a HUGE thanks to Pat D who was my fabric mule.  I bought some fabric at Thimbles and Things in Orillia on my way up.  (this is a MUST STOP store if you are in the area!  The owner, Sue is just the most friendly quilt shop owner I know!!!)    When I got to the retreat and started my borders, I really liked the fabric and realized that I was short by one meter. Hmmmm - how to get one more meter.  Then I had an AHA moment. I remember that Pat D (who lives in Orillia) was coming to Bracebridge that afternoon for the guild meeting - the Pinetree Quilters of Muskoka.  Hmmm - maybe she could stop by.  I messaged her and yes she could stop.  Called the store and they couldn't locate the bolt.  AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Then I realized that the store had called me twice and I didn't hear the ring.  GRRRRRR - called them - yes - Pat had already stopped by and was gone. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT - Sue and Pat were very smart.  They guessed that I wanted one meter and Pat paid for it.  HORRAY!!!!!    So I saw Pat at the guild meeting and I got (and reimbursed her) my fabric and also a license plate that she didn't want.   I have the best friends ever!!!!!!    Thanks so much Pat. I really appreciate what  you did!!!  I owe you.

One more license plate

Now for something - totally random................

When I was in Houston, I saw a store demonstrating this great tool for applique.  Hmmmm - I have that tool!!!!!!  (well there are two different brands and they were using the other brand which is by Alex Anderson I believe)  It has taken me almost two weeks to remember to look for the tool and guess what - I knew exactly where it was. Which is pretty amazing considering that I purchased the tool about 4 years ago - never used!!!!!

P3 Designs - Applique prep tool

There will be more on that as I prep more applique in the near future.

Well - I got home from the retreat - safe and sound - I'm guessing the others did as well. I made one pit stop as I had drank a lot of water before leaving and I needed a quick "wake up" break anyway.

Little Sammy was thrilled to see me.

Well - on that note - I am out of here. I'm tired and I've been sewing for another couple of hours when I got home. I'm off to read my book.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bittersweet

Thanks to Ronda who probably thinks I'm a total idiot, I am blogging to you from my laptop while snuggled up at Quilter's Mis Beehaven where there is NO internet.  In the past, Ronda has used her cell phone as a hot spot if someone needed access to the internet.  Technically I could do the same, but  - well -let's face it - I've never done that before and god forbid that we have growth and change!  Oh no - well - last night - we walked through the process and VOILA or should I say WALLA - I now have access to the internet which means I now have access to Blogger so I can write a post.

You see - it is 6:30 AM and Ronda won't be up for hours!!!!   Now that I am "independent" - I don't need to rely on her. Oh yes - the wonders of technology.  I blame it on the fact that Ronda sits on the train to go to and from work with her train friends so they have an hour twice a day to mess with their phones.  I can't be bothered!   By the time I am 100 - I will probably have figured it all out!!!!

This morning is definitely a bittersweet morning. It is the last morning at Quilter's Mis Bee Haven - at least for me.  Yes - in a few short weeks, The Farmhouse will change hands and it will no longer be a haven for quilter's.  Nope - a herd of miniature horses will be calling it home. Now here's the thing - when we arrive at the Farmhouse - it is empty.  I mean - there are things in the house, but absolutey nothing personal.

However since we (at least me) has been here 21 times - (I know - who knew!)  and we are so familiar with things that these objects (while not mine and shared with everyone else who has spent time here)  have become very close to me.  The chicken quilt (that glows in the dark) that hangs in the living room, the big comfy couch, the fact that the kitchen is always well stocked and everything is in the same place - well - the house is just full of these wonderful touches that it feels like home. And every time something new came into the house or a wall hanging was changed - we all knew immediately!

Even though we have found a new retreat house, there is no comparison to this one.  Yes - the new one will eventually feel like home, but this place holds so many memories.  I spent an hour this morning going through the guest book - oh my - the time that the power went out and the generator kicked in and we sewed on, the time when it snowed so hard that we had to be plowed out, the time we went in search of vanilla to bake cookies.  And the people - I have been here with many people as our group evolved somewhat over the years.  I could go on and on............ These are memories that will last forever!

And let's not forget the sewing that got done here.  I have done tons!!!!  I think we have worked on pretty much any feasible project you could sew.  Quilts tops, quilt backs, some people have quilted, bags - lots and lots of bags. Clothing, placemats, you name it.  The techniques we have taught each other - well you get the picture.  The sharing just can't be beat. Gosh - I'm snapping pictures of everything!

Speaking of sewing - well I didn't touch those strips that I posted yesterday - ooops - I got caught up in something else and decided to finish that.  Yep - I did a complete project (well it isn't quilted) but the top, the backing are done and I just have to make the binding this morning.

I have taken tons of pictures which I will share this coming week.  You see my laptop does have a camera slot, but I have no software to edit the stupid pictures.  So I must take care of that - I think I know how to fix that problem, but will see how that works out.

On that note I am out of here.  This is my last morning - we have to check out by three - not sure how late I will stay, but I'm going to make the best of the last day.

Oh - before I go - we had a visitor last night. Carol dropped by.  Now I got a comment from Carol - often times, I mention people's names on the blog and other people (like Carol) try to figure out who I could be talking about.   Carol used to come to the retreat with us but when travel for work and a heavy work schedule got in the way, it wasn't so easy to get the time off. Well - I think it was more that when she did get time off, she chose her family over us!!!!   Imagine that!!!!   Anyway - so that Carol is now CAROL, every other Carol I chat about will be Carol R, or Carol B or whomever.  But this Carol is CAROL!!!!!  She always was stickler for details and the only person who was banned from group projects - not because her work was shoddy - hardly!!!!   Because she was too damn precise for the rest of us!!!!

I hear the others are starting to move around upstairs so I had best get to the cutting mat before anyone else.  Oh hardly - although they have been a pretty focused and dedicated group.

Good bye to Quilter's Mis Bee Haven - Judy and Gord - you have given all of your guests a valuable gift. Beautiful memories that will be with us always!!!!!!!!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ( I promise not to cry when I leave)

Ciao!!!!!!!!!
