Jasper - Rest day (Day 10)

A REST day. Yeah. Everyone was pretty excited that we didn't have to get up and ride our bikes today. So while we didn't have to ride anywhere - there was NO food at the camp ground. And we needed to do laundry. The big decision of the day was - do we ride our bikes (about 5 K) or do we take a cab?????   Hmmm - the group was split - and half rode their bikes to town and the rest of us cabbed it.

We arrived at the laundry mat which was nice and clean.

Here we are - the cyclists and the cabbers - everyone claiming their washing machine

Then while we waited for the laundry to wash - we headed off to a great little restaurant for breakfast

Back to the laundromat and here is Travis neatly folding his clothes

Waiting for the dryers

Prisca - her method of putting the clothes away? - shove them in the bag

Jim's method of putting clothes away??  Put apporpriate clothing in a LABELLED bag - day one, day two, etc. - neatly folded!!!!!
Now that the important stuff was out of the way - we were off to check out the town. We stopped at the bike shop and I picked up a new jacket and a pair of shorts.

Then off to the quilt store where Anna and I had fun checking out new stuff.

Travis and Steve. Travis got this shirt designed to commemorate the climb at Ashcroft!!!!!
Grabbed a sandwich and cabbed it back to the campground. Hmmmm - it is time to do some repair work on the bike. I had had a soft front tire the last couple of days. I had pumped it up each morning for the last two mornings and finally decided that I had better change the tire. DRAT but at least it was the front tire.

Get the bike up on the stand and it turns out that there were a few other things that needed to be cleaned, oiled and otherwise repaired. Dave to the rescue!!!!!   He guided me through the repair and then my tire was fixed (yes - I did it myself) and back on the bike.

I did a bit of geocaching in the park. I don't think they were "official" geocaches, but I had fun doing them.

Then we cabbed it back to town for dinner at Earl's. But not before we had made a trip back to the bike shop (to get TUBES for my bike) and the quilt store (to get a prezzie!!) While we were in the restaurant it started to POUR!!!!   Oh please - let it NOT rain tomorrow.

Back to the campground by cab (thank goodness - we got a van and we could split the cost five ways!!)

Crawled into the tent and went to sleep by the round of raindrops on the tent. Please let it be clear in the morning!!!!!!

Have a great day!!!!!

Ciao!!!!!!
