The Weekend

You can only appreciate the weekend if you work full time.  And boy I sure appreciate my weekends. I truly look at Saturday and Sunday with a great deal more respect that I did before. However that does not mean that I'm not excited about Monday!  Oh yes - while I do miss that sewing day with my sewing buddies, I'm excited about going to work.  I have a lot of things to do - sewing, e-mails, planning for quilt trade shows, magazines to peruse, quilts to design, patterns to write or correct. There is so much - I am already getting piles of stuff on my desk and I had better tackle it today before it gets out of hand!!!!


So what did I do with my weekend?  Remember it was a cold and rainy weekend so that was perfect to hibernate in the house.


Well - I got TWO quilts quilted.

I did a lot of cutting on the kits for Misty Pines.  I would like to say that I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but I am not so sure.   There are 12 fabrics and each fabric has a LOT of pieces and I am cutting these so they are ready to sew.  Oh yes - this group is getting coddled for sure!!!   I'm doing 24 of them!!!!  But it is the kind of thing I like to do.  I know - call me quirky!!!!!

Then I cut out a quilt for myself.  Actually it is the free download that will go on Northcott's web site soon, but thank goodness I am cutting it as I may have to jiggle the measurements slightly.  I'll be sewing that up today.  I was hoping to sew it yesterday and maybe even get it quilted????   But I decided that I had a few errands to do and I ended up at the mall - not ONCE, but TWICE in the same day.   Hell must have froze over.

Oh my - I even looked at a few clothes, but was NOT in the mood and I don't really need anything new. But I do need shoes so I bought a pair. Well sort of.  They did not have my size in the colour I wanted so I ordered them and they are being shipped to my house.  Now how cool is that.  I know - just like the networked photocopier - I don't get out much!!!!

The weather over the weekend was pretty weird. There was rain and we have gone from sweltering heat to single digit temperatures.  A drastic change in weather.  Ah  it is Canada!!!!!   But this was the sky the other night.  My camera did NOT capture the true colour of the sky, but this gives you and idea.   This was looking towards the west, it was raining and near sunset.  Pretty weird.  There was a very omnious glow to the sky.
