Class line-up for Fall 2020

It was another successful Virtual Retreat. I'll share with you this week what happened.

Today it's all about the upcoming classes that I'm teaching. Yes - I know that I need a website. I keep saying that I'll do it myself, but we all know that isn't going to happen. So if you happen to know someone who can help me out, send me an e-mail (elainetheriault@gmail.com).

Here's my total class line-up for the remainder of this year and several of the quilts that will on the schedule for next year as ongoing classes.

Please note that ALL Classes will be run through Zoom, which is a free online platform.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you sign up?

Send me an e-mail with the name of the class that you're interested in as the SUBJECT. This way, I'll be sure to not miss your e-mail. I'll send you the supply list. The classes can be paid for by sending me an email transfer. More details will be included with the supply list.

I'll load a PDF version of the classes later today so you can easily print it off. I ran out of time this morning.

Saturday, October 3 from 3 - 5 PM

Included in the cost of the class is the written pattern, as well as an on-line tutorial, plus the four hours of class time with loads of extra tips. The cost is $40 for all that!

Electric Quilt 8 (October and November)

Electric Quilt 8 - This is a software program for designing quilts. Whether you want to become a quilt designer, or just learn it for fun, this series of classes will give you enough confidence to continue exploring EQ8 and all it has to offer.

Electric Quilt 8 – Beginner
Sunday, October 25
Time: 1 pm – 3 pm
Cost: $30.00
This class is for total newbies to EQ8 or those that haven't touched it in a while. We're going to look at the user interface and the tools for building a basic block and a basic quilt, as well as the options for printing (cutting requirements and quilts) and exporting pictures.

Electric Quilt 8 - Barn Quilts
Saturday, October 31
Time: 1 PM - 3 PM
Cost $30.00
We're going to create out own barn quilt using EQ8. We'll be choosing blocks from one of the Barn Quilt Trails in Southwestern Ontario and from there, we'll draw the blocks, color them, and then design our own quilt. This is a good way to practice drawing if you are new. You can pick complicated block to draw or simple ones.

Electric Quilt 8 – Building a quilt using panels
Sunday, November 1
Time: 1 pm – 3 pm
Cost $30.00
Panels are a great way to play with EQ8. You'll learn how to bring a panel into EQ8, and from there, the sky will be the limit for design. We'll be playing around with border options, fussy cutting fabrics, and a whole lot more. You will need some experience with EQ8 - if you've taken my Beginner class, you should be fine with this one.

Electric Quilt 8 – Advanced
Sunday, November 8
Time: 1 pm – 3 pm
Cost: $30.00
So you know the basics, now what? This class will continue on from the Beginner class or for those that have some experience and what to explore more areas of EQ8. Part of the agenda will depend on the students and their needs.

Ongoing classes starting in January, 2021

Yes - I'm thinking this far ahead!!  I don't have all the dates set yet for these classes but wanted to give you a preview of what's coming. At this time, these classes will be held via Zoom and consist of a one-hour lecture format. We start with Show and Tell and then move onto the homework for that month.

Urbanologie by Sew Kind of Wonderful
Oh Look Fabric - Milton

This quilt uses the QCR Mini ruler.

100 Modern Quilt Blocks - Tula Pink's City Sampler
This is one that I'm running via Zoom. More details to come.

I will be hosting at least one more ongoing class for 2021. It's going to be a row quilt (we make rows, not blocks). I'm just sourcing the pattern and will let you know as soon as that happens.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 UFO Club

YES - the UFO club will continue and even if we get to meet in person at some point, I'll continue with a group on Zoom. So you can participate wherever you are. This has been a HUGE MOTIVATOR to get stuff done!!!!  The cost is $125 for the year. Each month that you complete the assignment that you gave yourself, you will get $10 back. So if you're good, the class technically costs you $25. A great motivator!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you have it - the class list for Fall 2020 and what's happening for the ongoing classes (most of them) for 2021. I expect to add TWO more ongoing classes to 2021 and I'll be posting them as soon as the rest of the details get worked out. I'm super excited about the line-up and I hope you are too.

Remember, since all the classes will be held on the Zoom platform, ANYONE, ANYWHERE can participate. That's so much fun and we've gotten to meet some wonderful people that we would not have met otherwise.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember -- if you want to sign up for a class, send me an e-mail at elainetheriault@gmail.com.  Indicate the name of the class you want to sign up for. Yes - if you want to sign up for multiple classes, send me an e-mail for each class. Some of you have already signed up, I've got you and will be sending out confirmations and supply lists this week.

I look forward to a great fall of learning!

And if something looks off or you have more questions, send me a note and I'll get back to you.

Have a super day!!!!

Ciao!!!!
