A little assistance for Jane.................

For those of you doing Dear Jane - here are the pictures I promised for block.

Go to page 55 to follow along......

Make a freezer paper template that matches the circle in the center of the block

Then press the shiny side of the template to the WRONG side of the COLOURED fabric.

Cut out the center leaving a seam allowance around the edge of the circle template.

Use starch and clipping the seam allowance, fold the seam allowance back  so you have a nice neat edge around the edge of the circle.

Then lay the coloured fabric with the circle in the middle (that would be the green in this picture) onto the white background (in the book). 

Then you can applique the white corners onto the coloured fabric.

Applique the center six pointed star in coloured fabric onto the white background (Inside the circle frame).

Technically we have reverse applique the white "melons" - in a manner of speaking.
