Muddled and befuddled!

What a SUPERB day at the Brampton Quilt Show. I got to see so many people - it was exciting to catch up with everyone. So very nice of YOU ALL to come and enjoy our quilt show. I saw lots of people taking pictures which is great. I have a plan to help you figure out the best way to make use of those photos so hang onto them for a couple of days.

I got to work a couple of hours in the members boutique. Wow - I only bought $23.50 of goodies, but there were LOADS of goodies there - many of them very reasonably priced. There is a lot left to browse through.

I think I managed to see all the quilts, but so much to see and so MANY MANY different techniques - traditional quilts, modern quilts, art quilts, - it was VERY inspiring. The layout was especially pleasing to really enjoy the show and I think the atmosphere was wonderful and the arena temperature was VERY comfortable.

If you haven't had a chance to go - you still have tomorrow. And if that isn't enough incentive - how about this.......................

These are the mini quilts that you can buy raffle tickets on.................

And see that tiny eye zapping one in the above picture - here is a closeup...............

Remember this - I made this at my November retreat. It is STRIP PIECED - no cheating on this one.

If you want a chance to win it - you MUST go to the show on Sunday, May 5 and buy tickets on it. And if you want me to make you one - HA HA HA HA HA - (well for an exorbitant amount of money - I will make you one).

I bought tickets today and managed to snag TWO of the minis (OK - people - in all fairness - I did drop a LOT of money on tickets. I am NOT lucky like Imelda!!!!)
Quilt number one

Quilt number two

And in case anyone is wondering about that other one that I took for my friend - I dropped it off at Ronda's house on my way home!!!!!

I will NOT be at the quilt show tomorrow. I shall miss tear down - that is always a fun part of the show. Well - I always like seeing it come down and then being the last one off the floor when the arena is back to normal. However tomorrow - I am off on another adventure - I am volunteering to help with the Toronto Marathon. I shall tell you all my day, but let's just say that I have to pick up a stranger (my helper) at 5 AM tomorrow downtown. Then driving a truck around the city and dropping off supplies - then picking up supplies and ooooohhhhhh - the best part - we get to pick up the garbage from all the water stations. Just imagine THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of cups and gel paks on the ground that have to be picked up. I shall try to take a few pictures just so you can see the mess. And the cops are on our backs to get the streets open again. Who said volunteering was a GLAMOUR job. It is a LONG, EXHAUSTING, DIRTY day - but worth it to know that we helped out with a major sporting event and it is the closest I will ever get to a marathon. Let's just pray that there are NO incidents like those in Boston.

Needless to say, my brain is tired, my body is tired. When I got home, I was hungry so while I waited for dinner to cook, I grabbed a bag of tortilla chips and had a few. Then I put them and the salsa away. When M went to put the salad away - guess what she found in the fridge................

Ooooops- is that an early sign of something????   I just call it distracted and tired!!!!!

On that note - I am off to bed. It is going to be an early morning and long day and I am going read before dropping off to dream land.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ciao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
