Anyone want to go into business?

Here's a great idea that I came across when I was at Quilt Festival.   I thought I had taken a photo of the booth, but if I did, I don't have my camera handy to look for it.

I had noticed this vendor booth at Festival and thought it was very weird that their "bolts" of fabric were so small.  I stopped later to chat and well - while all the fabric was NEW, it was not technically on a regular bolt.

They purchase fabric that people no longer want. They bundle it and resell it.  That's the premise of the ENTIRE store.  How cool is that?

Here's a link to their web page. Second Chance Fabrics

They do sell new fabric as well, in addition to patterns and notions and other items.   But what a great concept.  This shop is located in California and they do travel to shows.  Might be a place to check if there is an older fabric that you're looking for.

You know how we're always saying "I have so much fabric, I could open a quilt shop?"  Well - based on this concept - YEP - I could do it!   But I don't want to!

The second thing I came across recently was related to election signs. You all know how much I love those election signs. And they have rules about election signs and they actually talk about them in city council meetings. One of the councilors in my city thinks the signs are "visual garbage!"  Well. I don't care how many days the darn things are on display for, I just want to be able to snag a few (abiding by the rules of course!)   Of course, I do have a pretty good supply in the garage, so technically, I really don't need any more!

If you want to know what I use those signs for, check out this quilting tip that I wrote.   Actually, that link will take you to a PAGE of quilting tips.  The election sign one is the last one on the page.  Check it out and don't forget to check out the other tips.  I'm adding all the time and if there is something you want a tip about or are struggling with, let me know. I'm always looking for ideas.

On that note, it's time to get the day started.

Have a super day!

Ciao!
