Company on Easy Street

Yes it is time for the Easy Street update. One of my friends (Linda) decided to take a trip on Easy Street with me. And I am glad. It is because of Linda that I have gotten "hooked" on Quiltville!!!!   We talked about doing Orca Bay together (last year's mystery), but Linda opted out before I did and I haven't done much!!!!   So much for moral support!   This year - I had better get my act together.

Linda was over last night and here is her Easy Street..............

Linda's Step One - DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda's Step TWO and THREE - DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!

Did you notice her "block holders??????   She uses inexpensive cookie sheets from the dollar store!!!!

And my Easy Street - well - have a look - I am not that far along. HEY - I am trying to do this as an ender and leader project, but not getting enough sewing in to make that happen. Too many customer quilts to do at this time of the year. I am going to have to bite the bullet and JUST SEW on this project. What a concept that will be!!!!!    I have customer quilts to be quilted by the 15th and then a bit more flexible schedule after that so I have every intention of getting caught up.

My Step THREE - that brilliant green just jumped at me when I went to search for fabric. Now I think I know what the third colour will be, but I will wait to see what we are going to do with it before I choose.

My Step ONE - notice if you put it in a reflective tin - it looks like you have WAY MORE done than you actually do!!!!!

Still only TWO flying geese units from Step TWO

BUT all the pieces are cut out and sitting on the sewing table waiting to be sewn!!!!!!!!

Hey Jeanette??????   How is your Easy Street??????

I did manage to get a BBB (border, backing and binding) project done this morning.

Another BBB ready to be quilted

I wanted red PLUSH for the backing of this quilt, but NONE to be found locally. So I called up my favourite store The Quilt Patch because I know they have plush in every colour.  I spoke to Jeanne on Thursday afternoon, the package was shipped on Friday, I received it on Monday, got made into a backing on Tuesday and I would love to say it was quilted on Wednesday, but this Sunday is more like it. How is that for SPEEDY service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On that note - I am out of here. I've got FOUR custom quilts to be done by Saturday. One is currently loaded on the machine ready to start this AM, one is half done and the other two, I haven't started. Thank goodness the custom work is fairly simple or I would be in trouble.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ciao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Lookin real good Elaine! You have that chicken wire that I really liked. I haven't been able to find it. Linda's blocks are looking good too! Happy Sewing!

  3. I like the chicken wire fabric. It's the kind of thing I'd look at and wonder, "But what could I do with it?" I look forward to seeing your progress.
